This Rogan fight is just so wrong for Fury. He struggles mentally and loses focus preparing for meaningless fights. Would of loved Hennessey to take the Povetkin fight.
Degale needs to get himself to the Ingle gym and learn how to make the most of his fantastic natural ability. If Degale stays with Warren the Groves fight will likely happen as Frank wont miss that financial opportunity being the man he is.
I think Eddie Hearn is good for british boxing.
Matchroom, Hatton Promotions and Coldwell promotions do provide a much needed kick up the ass to the two Frank's but I do doubt if Hearn has the financial power to get Brook the big fights in the UK. Coupled with the fact that Eddie can be very abrasive, I think for Brook to get the recognition he deserves he and Matchroom will likely be forced to take a big risk in opponent selection, go to the US and aim for a Alexander, Berto or IBF title fight with Mike Jones after this next fight.
If they can get Zaveck or Carson Jones over to Sheffield in July then a impressive win would set up a big fight in the States later in the year.
Fuck off has Hennessy put on good shows.
He's wasting that opportunity he's been given.
:grumpy:
He basically has Fury, Galahad and Eubank at his disposal.
I think he failed Fury miserably with the Povetkin and David Price situation.
He hasnt kept Eubank Jnr. busy enough.
So yeah, im probably just getting over excited because we have boxing back on council TV! There are rumours Ch5 are looking at dropping UEFA league and concentrating the budget on Boxing. I would hope they give another promoter the chance should it happen.
Couldn't agree more.
Matchroom & Hatton Promotions in particular are great for British boxing.
The last Matchroom show in Sheffield with Brook, Hatton, Frampton, and Proska/Hope was as good as Warren or Maloney have put on in the last 18 months. Hearn deserves credit for that considering the fighters he has at his disposal. Just wish Groves went with Matchroom when he had the choice.
Also think Hennessey has put on a couple of brilliant nights since he got the Channel 5 contract -which is amazing for British boxing!
Dont believe that is unreasonable considering how Gamboa completely dodged Rios when the fight was virtually made.
After the Murray fiasco I dont think Rios should be operating below 140 anyway. Let the fight grow and simmer while Gamboa clears up the lower weights for a year or two.
