I don't think Pacman is losing fans really, I meant I can't say truthfully one way or another why the fight hasn't happened yet, but I do want it to happen. Khan is definately losing fans and had many less to start with, thats for sure. I think Manny is just happy with what he's accomplished and done in his life and doesn't have any hunger to face the best like he might have had a few years back. Why risk a carreer defining loss to Mayweather for money when you really don't need it and already have a great legacy I guess. Either way if the fight ever happens I believe the winner retires immediately as a legend.
I don't know about Rios in this one, he's entertaining and fun to watch but if Maidana couldn't get the W on Khan, I just can't see Rios doing it, even if it's a close fight Khan would still get the nod, not a great fight for Rios right now.
RIP Champ you will never be forgotten in boxing.
But "a bullet to the grill" what the hell is happening to the articles here, was this written by an 18 year old? I wanted to stop reading as soon as I saw that, and sadly it was within the first few paragraphs.
I think I have to agree with the people who said Bradley deserves this shot more than anybody else besides Pacquiao. I honestly think I'd rather see Corley get back in there with Floyd than Canelo or Guerrero, which is kind of sad if you think about it.
yea
This is really getting out of hand now, the majority of the public believe that Peterson won the fight. Khan should have included a rematch clause, and since he didn't I can't see how he's crying so much over the result. Did he really expect to win a fight in Peterson's hometown by backpeddling the entire time while Lamont lands power shots to his body? I think Khan had a fair amount of haters before the fight due to his cocky attitude but this whole rematch and bellyaching from his camp is ridiculous and seriously damaging his carreer.
naw, lee would get demolished. if sergio can't secure a fight with chavez he will probably go down to 154.
I agree that it's definately possible that Lee gets demolished with his sometimes absent head movement but I think at this point a demolishing of Lee is just as impressive as a demolishing of Geale, or Pirog, or Sturm, to me atleast. With Floyd going away and no other big names at 153 really, he has to impressively dismantle somebody with some name value before he can get that Floyd fight and it should be Lee.
What? After that Mcewan fight I don't ever want to see Lee i nthe ring with Sergio.
LOL Fair enough, Lee definately didn't look amazing against McEwan but he did get the knockout in the end. Besides that nobody at MW will fight Sergio anyways, Lee to me is the next challenger before he can go for a true megafight, he should wipe the MW division out. I think it'd be a more exciting fight than you'd think.
Few quick thoughts.
Macklin was definately confusing Martinez stylistically after the 2nd round or so, and I gave him two rounds maybe. The knockdown on Sergio was BS for sure but it is what it is, atleast the refferees haven't been as awful as the judges.
The judging was insane, after th 10-7 round how could you EVER call that a draw I mean, it's to the point where like my heart sinks everytime a fight goes to a decision waiting to see these horrible scores all the damn time in boxing, judging has been so damn terrible lately it's absurd.
Sergio adjusted after the first half of the fight, took it to him, he'd been landing much harder and more accurate all night and the accumulation combined with a late rally and Macklin gassing got the KO, I was still impressed by Sergio, would've liked more aggression but a knockout is a knockout.
Speaking of knockouts, OMG that ring girls ass was insane, somebody needs to gif this and find a name IMMEDIATELY.
And we also need to see Martinez vs Lee, I honestly would rather see that than Floyd right now, that fight seems to me like a boring mashup of counterpunchers, would be technically very nice but boring on screen IMO. Lee has decent defense and throws enough with a great reach, he'd have to get Sergio inside to be hurt and it could definately be a nice fight.
I really hope we don't see Pirog or Quillin against Martinez anytime soon, I don't give either of them much of a chance against his countering style. I think atleast style wise Lee offers the most chance of something interesting in a fight. If Sergo dismantles Andy Lee, then he moves on to Floyd or another top tier 153lb fighter maybe even a clash with Lara would be good if he can get another couple big victorys, a W over Ronald Hearns won't do it though.
