A lot of what Eddie Hearn says make sense, not that I trust any promoter to give us the honest truth. I know others have said "let's give Zuffa time", including Mr Stephen Edwards (Breadman is a generous soul), but I find them mysterious at best. Why choose Conor Benn to give 15 million squid for one fight? And why, after his luke warm performance against Regis Prograis (who retired the same night), give Benn a long term contract? If this is all about dishing out big money out upfront, who is going to get squeezed later on to balance up the books? Every new fighter? Duffer boxing is very suspect, even in our experience.

I fear Errol Spence Jnr is about to take a severe beat down. Even before the car crash, I thought Terence Crawford was so many levels above Errol, that he would annihilate him as soon as they could meet. To the point I bet on Bud to win inside six rounds. That didn't prove wise, but Terrence spent half the bout shouting out insults to Jermell Charlo in the audience, especially after knocking down Errol with ease (3 times before the stoppage). I think that's how confident Bud was and he was entitled to be so. I know Tim Tszyu has his own limitations, but he has been active whereas Spence has not fought and has suffered injuries and undergone eye surgery.

To be honest, thinking off the top of my head, there is no one I would immediately bet on to beat Oleksandr, but maybe he's starting to lose interest and will chuck out another belt. I imagine he will keep a grip on his WBC belt as bauble to legitimise future bouts of some type.

I already have Netflix, so I watched Justis Huni beat Frazer Clarke and Richard Riakporhe win the British heavyweight title against Jeamie TKV Tshikeva, then napped. I would add that Whyte didn't look like he had been dedicated to training before his Itauma bout and prior to this fight, the comments on Boxing Scene were saying the same thing about Franklin. I'm not sure that anything could have been learnt from this latest match up.

Yes, Rudy, he was very good. The article doesn't have all the information. Darkie Smith climbed into the ring at that time because Mickey Vann had ignored him and his son in the changing room. Darkie was trying to tell Vann to watch out out for Ricky Hatton headbutting and throwing elbows. Instead of listening, Vann apparently shuffled his feet as though he was auditioning for Strictly Come Dancing and said "look, I've still got it". Then Ricky threw his trademarked illegal blows, without an ounce of warning from Vann. No wonder Darkie was ready to turn into the Incredible Hulk.

I swear fighters in the 90's and early 2000's cared about the fans and would try to pick a challenge. Now they find the easiest path and to make the most money. What happened? They apparently have a clause saying that boxers can fight outside Zuffa on Ring/Riyadh season cards, outside their eight weight classes (this fight is 150lbs!), and for the World Titles. There might actually be a 1 fight $15m deal with Zuffa... + multiple Ring fights too. Belts are one thing, beating several top flight challengers to EARN a legitimate title shot against the man who beat the man for the title is a whole different matter - on a higher level. Kabayel earned his place for a title shot. An email title being defended against a former email titlist coming off a KO loss speaks volumes about the email champ.
