What amazed me about this fight was how Winky's defense never decreased. He was blocking Tito's punches in the last rounds just as effectively as the first round. I really enjoyed seeing this class act match. Winky's is definitely my favorite boxer at this time.
He seems a bit smug to me, and lately he seems to run a bit too much without punishing the opponent at the same time. Partially I don't like him for seemingly playing games with Taylor about the fight terms and backing out of the fight with Toney, and acting as if Jones was ducking him when in fact if anything, the opposite was true.
I root vs Hopkins when he fights. However, all things great I said in my previous post still stand. Hopkins is an all-time great. I don't like him (as a boxer) but I still am able to be truthful about his accomplishments and their significance.
Fair enough.. I'm loyal just because its good to see that my Philly tax dollars actually rehabed a convicted felon...
Damn, i knew Winky could do it up a shut out, wow. Anyway congrats to Winky. I think Taylor will beat Hopkins as he is the younger, faster, bigger, and stonger fighter. That will set up Winky VS Taylor which could be interesting.
As much as I like Taylor, I gotta root for my hometown homeboy.. Can't wait for that battle..
He should drop weight & fight in a lighter weight class.. Thats if he still wants to fight..
If I was him I would get a job with De La Hoya & Hopkins & be in charge of developing fighters from Central America...
Can someone tell me why Tito didnt throw uppercuts? When someone has their guard like that, the best way to get him out is an uppercut.
Probably because he couldn't get close enough. Whenever Tito tried to move in BAM! right jab to the grill...
trinidad would need to not fight winky again..theres no way trinidad can beat winky and this is coming from a trinidad fan
The only way I can think is if Tito moves side to side(preferably to his left)and counters the jab.. But even that may be futile...
