Teofimo still beat Lomachenko fair and square.
And Teofimo wasn't afraid to get in the ring with Lomachenko, unlike Gervonta Davis.
Those two facts aren't going to get erased from the history books just because Kambosos won.
who told you Davis was afraid of Lopez ?
I think he does, the majority of the Boxing world is looking at Spence as a bit of a duck job when it comes to Crawford, you can only hide and push BS narratives for so long before we get to the point were it can't be hidden any more and this is where we are at with Spence right now.
This is one of the most wanted fights of the last 5 years. If Spence avoids it and moves up to 154 this is going to be a stigma that he is well and truly going to be stuck with. No matter what he achieves he will always be seen as the guy who ran from Crawford with Crawford always being considered a higher ranked P4P fighter and the guy who would of been the winner in a fight between him.
Spence needs Crawford just as much if not more than Crawford needs Spence, which is a bummer cuz Crawford beats Spence.
you make good points and appreciate your point of view...
I guess it would all depend on how Errol broke into 154 though..
if he got by the winner of Charlo/Castano II right out of the gates (like I think he might) Bud would be left out in the empty division..
and I disagree...
I think Errol would take Bud to school :)
Ha, you got a point. If Spence went balls to the wall and jumped straight in with Charlo or Castano then I think even I would forget all about the Crawford fight for a while. I can't lie, I love the idea of that. Don't get me wrong, I say what I say about Spence but I'm a fan.
it just seems like boxing politics are getting in the way and Bud and Errol probably won't happen for whatever reason...
that's the black eye of boxing...it's the cross promotions..
I'm 62 and have been a boxing junkie since the mid 70's and I've come to the realization that we're probably not gonna see Crawford/Spence ever fight when it mattered most :(
Yes Spence does. He's doing just as he promised by cleaning up his side of the street. I just wonder what is taking Bud Crawford so long for signing up with the PBC? The more the fight marinates the bigger it would get. If Spence gets past Ugas then the Terence Crawford fight would be for the undisputed welterweight crown. I believe that both fighters will move up to 154 next year after that fight happens.
my gut feeling is 154 would suit Spence a lot more than it would Bud...
Spence is just the bigger guy with bigger things on the horizon...
Spence doesn't need Bud as much as Bud needs Spence !
Move up. No point in stayin at 140 imo. Rematch Rougarou? Garcia dont deserve it. Fight Ramirez again? He said no to Teo.
I think Taylor becomes ordinary at 47...
He probably needs to make his mark as undisputed with a defense or two before he crash's the market @ 47..
IMO he does that by defending against Ramirez again !
The WBC has two world champions in 1 out of 18 divisions. The WBA has two world champions in 10 out of 17 divisions.
I'm an interim world champion in 3 WBA divisions :)
Be patient and make the most of 140. Lopez has moved already and Haney isn’t far behind.
I think Taylor is very good but he won’t beat Ennis, Ortiz or Crawford imo.
yes !........
MMA fans genuinely have less intelligence IMO. I’m not sh**ting on MMA fans- I’m one myself but I think they’re not as savvy as the boxing fans.
I agree...
I think it's because there's limited history in MMA.
I don't get the impression Usyk is the kind of guy who's gonna let someone get into his head but I could be wrong....
I do think if he's fighting a guy who doesn't respond, Fury stands to look bad if he pops off at the mouth like he did for the Wilder fight at least in my opinion...
I'm pretty burnt out on fighters going to the well one too many times trying to appear they have some phycological advantage.
Jones was the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson in his prime. Not only what he did, but how he did it.
Imagine the Manny Pacquiao from the De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto fights.
Now imagine Manny looking like that for a DECADE. EVERY time he stepped into the ring.
That is what Roy looked like in his era.
^^^^ this !
:lol1::lol1::lol1: He is 45 years old and has been retired for years...... why do you hold him in such high regard? A 2 week training camp for 15 -20 million to spank a little kid . Don't blame Mayweather , besides within 2 years Pacquiao will be all over these exhibitions and so will every other boxer if they have a name. Don't get yourself worked up about it. Lets pretend if you were a legendary retired fighter you will never fight exhibitions for millions of pounds. Personally its bull**** but i would gladly take his place if he deems it morally wrong he is letting his fans down
In Floyds case I'm confident it has little to do with having money, and more to do with just being able to exercise the fact that he can still manipulate the whole process to make it...
But in theory I agree with where you're coming from....
These exhibitions aren't giving Boxing a black eye... it's the people who are buying them :)
Floyd will just look like a school yard bully - bad optics. Floyd should stop doing things to tarnish his image.
Too late.
that ship has sailed...
his image was trashed the second he signed to fight McGregor.
Anyone giving Commey much of a chance?
No, but I don't see Loma getting him out of there in as impressive fashion as Lopez did, so I don't really see this fight as proving much....
I could be wrong :)
