Ultimately I can foresee Pac having to give in. Seriously, I don't really care who wins, I like both fighters for different reasons, but I would be lying if I didn't say I would be severely disillusioned if Pac was juicing. At this point I am waiting for him to just agree so that we can get this fight going and to calm the fans and naysayers alike.
Honestly though, boxing doesn't need this shit. Man the f*ck up and agree to the testing, then get in there and battle it out.
Ultimately it truly doesn't matter how this turns out. People can point fingers at Mayweather all they want but fighters let him run the gamut all the damn time. All Pac has to do is smile and nod and agree to the tests and come fight day, put Floyd in his place. All this BS posturing and drama is exactly what makes boxing come off as hackneyed bologna. We keep feeding this hype machine assuming that Pac or Floyd are actually considering walking away from not only an ungodly amount of money, but status amongst the greatest fighters of all time. Get the f*ck out of here with that sh*t. No amount of money will get Floyd to not try to take a piece of that. All time greats make money forever. The better you were the longer you are profitable, plain and simple. They both want this, Pac just needs to man up and move forward. If ANY of you think that Pac pulling out over something as stupid as this is is worth making himself look this foolish and possibly taint his career, you are crazy. He's the f*cking fighting pride of the Philippines. An entire country looks up to him. He better grab his balls and go kick some ass because the only person looking like a chump right now is Manny. We all know how Mayweather behaves, getting mad, making a spectacle out of this stuff is exactly what he wants. Boxing is about cunning, courage and grace, INSIDE as well as OUTSIDE of the ring. Manny just needs to go to work, let Floyd run his mouth. They need to sort this out in the ring like the all time greats they are fighting to be.
I don't get guys like EddieTate. What fuels this kind of hate for a fighter? It's freaking weird.
Paulie is a 2 division world titlist and a European (EBU?) titlist. He did this despite his soft touch. Anyone in the fight game will tell you that Paulie is tough as nails, the kid has no quit in him. Refs know that when he fights, especially when he was at the end of his career, he had to be saved from himself. I've always liked Paulie, the guy brought knives to a gun fight and boxed people's ears off. I have to respect that.
I think it is a little silly to assume that a fighter as inexperienced and incomplete as Ortiz could manhandle Floyd. This is not even a nut-hugging thing, this is just business. Ortiz knows he can't box Floyd, he will have to apply pressure, and Floyd is deceptively skilled on the inside. Ortiz has to out-think Floyd and that is simply not going to happen. Floyd is thinking in angles and patterns, Ortiz is living on a freaking prayer. No way in hell Ortiz can box Floyd, and he is falling into that same trap Floyd lays for everyone, the doors open, come right on in. In all honesty, Ortiz had no f*cking idea how badly Floyd is going to handle his ass on the inside. Ortiz is an average in-fighter at best.
This is business. Ortiz was scouted, battle plans are drawn out, Floyd is simply going to execute a game plan and walk away with a decent payday, half of which he had better use to pay down some of those back taxes.
I have to admit, I liked Gunn's attitude. That traveling knuckleman persona is a relic of the past that I still have a soft spot for. Too bad a lot of the BKB techniques go nowhere against a counter puncher like Toney. Toney's passed his prime but in no way a dummy. Kid's a monster with the counter punching. Hope I get to see footage of the fight at some point here.
Yeah, I can't agree with what you are saying here. I am watching it simply to see 2 great boxers ply their trade. Both of them are great fighters and saying that anyone in the Junior Welterweight class would walk through Marquez is simply absurd. Welterweight is something else, as I don't really agree with Marquez fighting at that weight, but 135/140, he holds his own and then some. Marquez is old, but make no mistake, he's a f*cking master technician.
