I wonder if it will be played on the Versus channel too. Never heard of the Azteca America network. But Top Rank is always putting boxing on Versus.
The fight definitely won't be shown on Versus as I believe Top Rank's relationship with that network has expired. Plus, there is no relationship between Versus and Azteca.
Does anyone know if there is a stable stream out there for Azteca America? I don't have it on my cable network.
?
the fight is beginning televised in mexico on televisia, channel 9 and broadcast begins at 2200 local time. have had no luck finding a stream yet tho

I don't get some of you guys. Stop bitching about PPV cards. They ain't going away. The good news is, if you want to shell out the 30 bucks, you get to see the card. If you don't want to lay down the dough, don't do it. At least we have a choice. What is the alternative? Unless their is major, sweeping change to our sport (which ain't happening) this is what we have. I for one am thankful that at least I have a choice and that is what America is all about.

The information in this story isnt entirely accurate. Its true that once Maskaev-Peter headed to Mexico, Duddy pulled off the card. However, the March 15th date is not a replacement date but has been in the plans all along. Team Duddy is very close to announcing a new date in Feb. So essentially Duddy will still have a Feb and March U.S. date, which was the plan all along. Unless, of course, the Feb date they choose ends up being a very high profile NY card that is too close to the March 15th date which in that case the March date will be canceled all together.
Boxing Management 101
Hey Mark, get a clue. Duddy still has a deal agreed verbally to fight Pavlik. From his management teams perspective, he's simply "marking time" until his title shot. Oh, and you seriously aren't comparing getting a fight with Duddy to getting a fight with a legit world champion in Cintron, are you?

Considering the Duddy fight is NOT on TV, the money Irish Ropes is offering, and the fact that Irish Ropes wants to bring in an opponent who they are confident they can beat because of the handshake deal to fight Pavlik, good luck finding a better opponent than Matt Vanda. Vanda is a guy who will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. Can't say that for a lot of guys out there, especially for this kinda money and not on TV.
Obviously Duddy is fighting Vanda. My point is this: Pavlik agreed to fight Duddy after his destruction of Taylor. Then Taylor envoked his rematch clause while Duddy was told to stand by. So why increase the level of opposition from Eastman when you essentially already have your title shot in waiting. Lose now, and kiss that title shot goodbye, at least for the near future. As Duddy's manager said, "just get John a few more wins" and then fight for the title in mid-2008. It's basic managment, in my opinion.
