That fight was kinda meh, nothing to get excited about.
Just kidding.
For Wardley's sake, his corner and/or the ref should have stopped it no later than the 8th round, but I get why they gave him some rope. Still, it was cringe to see him take such a brutal beat down.
The author says of Dubois, "he’s not the most intelligent man in the room".
Based on what? Because he doesn't like being in the spotlight of interviews? Doesn't like public speaking? Well, neither do I and I'm a genius.
That's an unfair dig at the man. I don't think the author has any valid way to determine Dubois's intelligence level. And before anybody starts donkey-braying, judgment and intelligence are not the same attributes.
This is all well and good, but will it be yet another 4 AM, awake psychotics only scheduling?
Yes, it is exactly that. I'll be up and watching, meds or no meds LOL
I remember seeing Spider spark Shakan. He is a good fighter, much better than his record suggests. Would love to see him end the Ben Whittaker fraud but I don’t think Whittaker would go anywhere near him. Dan Azeez comes across as a decent person. I think he may need to accept his career in the ring is over.
His losses to Bivol, Hutchinson, and Buatsi put him in a garekeeper role. Whittaker absolutely should fight Richards. There's upside for both of them now after this Azeez KO.
Nah it sounds like Oscar is trying to get as much money as possible from Turki if they want him to sacrifice his last remaining talent
Sacrifice, eh? Boots might very well win, but surely you know it's much more of a competitive affair than a sacrifice. For all we know, Vergil is making this fight happen even if Oscar wants to shelter his fighter.
Mismatch, fraudulent fixed freak show, or actual stand-up fight, whatever the case may be, I don't see anyone saying they WON'T watch this thing.
I'll tune in because I just want to be entertained.
I respect Haney, and hope he comes to work against Norman. But the questions about his desire after the Garcia fiasco are legit. I have zero feel about this fight.
This is a good "Questions and Answers" kind of fight:
Can Norman cut off the ring effectively and pull the trigger when he needs to?
Can Haney box and move better than Norman's pressure tactics?
Will Norman rise to the occasion on the big stage?
Is Haney's head screwed on tight enough?
This is the must-see fight on the card for me.
Quick reminder that Froch believes the earth is flat.
What do you think going on record as a flat-earther would do for one's credibility as a witness in a court trial? Can you imagine the vicious cross examination to discredit him? On the other hand, the jury could be stuffed with flat-earthers, so you never know. FWIW, the planet really is spherical and not flat, and the science is incontrovertible. To be honest, Froch seems more intelligent than that, but I never met the guy.
If Joshua is truly a shot fighter as many loudly claim ("washed" as you Brits call it), and Jake Paul can do something in the ring to make it clear Joshua is done (even in losing to AJ), let's have Itauma step up and have Joshua be the gatekeeper.
The article's best metaphor and money quote: "And it is, hopefully, that rock bottom end point that results in the sport waking up face down in a gutter, ashamed of the decisions it’s made, vowing to get sober." - LOL
Also:
"Joshua-Paul ...appeals if you like a total freak show." - YES
"And it appeals if you just want to see Jake Paul get his ass thoroughly kicked already." - YES
