I'm not gonna argue that with you, since you have some experience in Sambo, but I'm telling you, a boxer can train a few years in anti grappling, distance in MMA, and all that jazz, and do major damage.
Yes sure he can! Thats how all high level guys get into mma - with a solid base in one discipline. But the topic of the discussion is if right now floyd could hang in a mma bout with solid preparation and I think it's simple too late to learn tdd, defensive bjj, fighting at the cage, clinch positions and grappling, tdd from clinches, elbows knees, kicking distance, kicking defense, a stance which don t kill his lead leg, a shoulder roll which don t result in an auto takedown, slipping into tds kicks knees, defense with 4oz, and, and,and after all the preparation his footwork would not look anymore like it is. That's why from the boxing pov mma-striking looks like ****e. It's simply not possible to behave like in the boxing ring with all the things going on. And sure you can argue that's why we discuss!
Regards
Once it gets to grappling territory, it's over for him, but before that, you'd have to be crazy to think Floyd has no chance to land a pin point laser beam on his chin, before it gets to that. I honestly give Floyd a decent chance in an MMA fight.

Conor sparring a boxer with mma rules. No disrespect but you guys need to get a sense of the different distance that is used in mma. Same thing why conor looks so **** in boxing. Setting up his left with kicks is a go to move and counter guys with his left while they throw punch from much wider distance because of kicks.
Conor by all senses should be killed by may in boxing. In mma may would not last a round I m sorry lads.
Bro, no **** there's a difference in MMA and boxing striking, but to say that a guy as quick and pinpoint accurate as Floyd doesn't have a chance to land a clean chin shot on him is asinine.
And no one's saying he can last more than a round. That's kind of the point of my post. I'm clearly saying he can land that kill shot before anything really happens in the match. At the end of the day, they start off standing, and Floyd still has incredible movement and agility. He's not some lumbering guy like Maidana that can't move in and out to save his life.
And boxing is always >>>> kickboxing, because of the speed at which you can throw your blows. Kicks need to be setup, and thrown at distance, and feet fully planted. A punch is thrown at any distance, and with no setup, and with fleet feet. You can step into a kick, and land your punch faster than your opponent can get full extension on his kick, if you train a few months in kick defense, and some anti grappling training.
That's why I always say at the end of the day the master boxer is better than the MMA fighter, because the master boxer can train a year or 2 in TDD, and some kick defense training, while the MMA fighter could never just enter the ring and beat a master boxer.
Bro - no offense - I completly agree with you. I m not one of the conor *****girls here.
I just do sambo my whole life, which is comparible with a mma and saw hundreds of boxing base guys come and go in my gym.
Its not simple as that. Floyd is the master of boxing. The problem with that is that parts of his fully automated footwork and movement is nullified in a mma match and can cost him for example a knee. If we argue that he lands in the first exchanges - why not. He need to change his 20+Years trained stance and forget about the shoulder roll and .. and ..
It is safer. MMA fighters don't die, zero deaths in the UFC's history, 20 years. Boxers die constantly every year.
Man I don't care what he supposedly meant. Don't say boxers don't fight because they do, don't say Boxing is easy because it's not and don't say it's safe because it's not. We'll see if it's safe when a guy who "can't punch" puts it on him.
There are deaths but you are Right - there are more deaths in Boxing - you know why?
People Don t die behause of knockouts. People die behause of accumelation of damage.
The most part of death boxers got their face fisted for many rounds and die hours later.
In mma are of course just bleed wars but one clean shot with 4oz and the lights goes out or at least is followed by ground an pound which is often stopped after 3-4 punches.
I trained all kind of **** in russia, sambo for the most.
I Can Tell you that mma Fighters are for sure not used to good Body Shots (including myself). Excluding Body kicks there are too many Weapons in mma to Counter a body shot. I Can Imagine that paul is not lying at this Point.
Once the IV rule was instituted/enforced about two years ago in UFC, it forced guys who were cutting crazy stuff like 25lbs to move up.
He hasn't made 145 since that rule change.
He fought the last time at 145 Aldo after the rulechange. He looked like straight from walking dead.
He was given a one fight exemption. His camp used IVs for the fight.
Source on this?
Can t find anything official. For my knowledge this was his only fight without the IV at 145.
