I watched it three times now all on mute and still think Bradley won. I had it 115 to 114 for Bradley.
I honestly don't get what was controversial about the decision.
The first couple of rounds could of gone to either guy. Pacman then dominated the next 3 rounds. Then the second half of the fight changed with Bradley coming out throwing a lot of punches for the first two minutes then Pacman came alive in the last minute. As the later rounds went on Pacman didn't connect much and seemed tired. I was expecting him to come out in the last round and just go for him but he didn't.
The problem for me is I think people see Pacman hurt him in rounds 3 to 6. But if you take those three rounds out and judge it on the other 9 then your see Pacman doing the whole come alive in the last minute thing.
Bradley's punches are not pwerful, sometimes it looks like slaps. But it looks as though he landed more in most rounds. So the question is do you give it to the guy who throws more and is more active for two minutes or give it to the guy who is defensive for two minutes then throws a couple of powerful shots in the last minute? If we use point scoring system then the guy who was doing it for 2 minutes would get more points.
A lot of these rounds could of gone either way, on my card I actually had two draw rounds (9th and 12th). There was no clear winner but to say Pacman clearly won as some are saying is silly.
Pacman looked awful out there. When the dust has settled and people look at it less biased then they are now then they will see the whole build up to the fight, the fight night itself made Pacman look like a pre-Maddona. He didn't want to come out at the proper time because he was watching Basketball....Come of it.
He looked weak out there. The power in his punches had gone, the brutal shots we have come to know from Manny especially his hook were nowhere to be found. He didn't look a class above Bradley, if anything they looked the same. If you ask yourself honestly if he was in there with a guy with a bit more power would he have made it to the end? I don't think so.
The real reason people are pissed off in my opinion is that the whole Mayweather-Pacman thing will now not happen. If it did Mayweather would beat him comfortably based on the past three fights. I am a huge Pacman fan and always will be but the fact these fights are even close says he isn't as good as he was. In his prime when all he cared about was boxing then Bradley would be knocked out for sure.
But times have changed and he has changed. He has a lot of issues in his home life due to the way he behaves out of the ring i.e affairs, gambling, partying and is now doing the whole religion thing. We have seen it from so many talented people before him. He won't be the last.
You can tell the camp didn't go well what with the arguments with trainers/coaches etc. Changing personal. Even Roach seemed to give hints it had not gone well by saying if he doesn't win convincingly then he should retire.
So for me I think it isn't as bad as people are saying, you make it sound like it was a one way beating. I'm sure the stats will show it was as close as the judges had it.
Pacman needs to make a choice, either box or do the politics thing. If you don't put 100% into boxing your lose. If your heart isn't in it anymore then your lose.
You do know Haye the guy in the build up to the fight is totally different to the guy after the fight right?
What people just don't seem to understand is that Haye is acting when he says that stuff. He says it because he knows it will generate interest which in turn means more people watch, which means more £££.
What i find funny is that you guys seem to ignore Klitchsko when he is disrespectful.....remember the video he made? Remember him talking about how Haye will get knocked out by him? Remember the number 50 on his hand at the stare down?
The problem is you let those things go because you have rose tinted glasses on.
If it was not for Haye nobody would be interested in the fight. If it was just another HW the world would not care about the fight. Wlad is not popular, he has no ppvs in US or UK. Why do you think he fights in Germany all the time?
Haye steps over the mark in the build up to his fights but that is what people used to do. Tyson,Ali even Mayweather etc.. all know the importance of getting in the other guys head. Sometimes it is better to make yourself the villian and play that role. Haye has done the same thing with Wlad and you can clearly see Wlad has been affected by it.
If you read what anyone says about Haye the normal guy when he is not fighting your see they say the total opposite. He is a genuine nice guy who goes to most known UK fighters fights all over the world. Khan,Froch to name but two. If goes to give his support to these guys. If you watch his documentary that Sky made your see him in a different light.
To say he fought nobody is just lame.....he fought everyone who had a Cruiserweight belt and beat them. He should not even be in the HeavyWeights. But if he wins he will have unified two divisions pretty much and i bet your still say he is a nobody right?
Read the interviews from people like Lewis,Tyson,Hollyfield,Stweard,Hopkins,Calzaghe,Froch,Khan,Roach,Manny etc on Haye. All those guys pretty much praise him for what he has done.
Can't wait.
I think there are going to be a lot of hurt ego's come 2nd of July in regard to Wlad fans.
I am no way near a Haye fan but the guy is a lot better boxer then Wlad. How many times has Wlad been down now 15 or so? That is a lot. If he was around in the Tyson/Lewis era he would of been retired long ago. The division is so weak and the guy's he has chosen to fight make him look a lot better then he really is.
Haye is not amazing. He is not one of the best heavyweights of all time. But he is more like what they used to be. Guy's who were allround fighters. Rather then fat, slow guys looking for one punch.
Wlad's strength is his jab, but beyond that he has nothing. At some point he is going to get tagged by Haye and i can see him crumbling after that. When he is up against it and taking punches he doesn't know what to do. Look at Chambers and Sanders fights and see how he is when he get's hit. He becomes open and can't recover. If you got a guy like Haye who has very fast speed and a brutal right hand having free shots at your head you are going to go down.
I can see Haye coming out and being very defensive, like Mayweather, on the back foot and looking for counters. Taking points by avoiding being hit and frustrating the other guy. The more that goes on the more i think Wlad will start to get annoyed and lose his cool. Start to become more open and a lot slower. At that point i see Haye taking him out. We have seen it so many times in the past with power vs speed matches.
As far as i am concerned when the fight is over and "if" Haye wins then the Klitchsko fans will have to eat a lot of humble pie. Haye has sacrificed a lot to take this fight, it was all Wlad. Fight in his technical home country with 40000 supporters vs 10000 for Haye, Coming to the ring 2nd, chosing the corner, chosing the gloves, chosing the hotels, 50-50 split even though Haye brings a **** load more money to it then him, being billed as the main guy in the promoting/advertising, chosing the referee, have his own doctor at ringside etc etc. If those demands were the other way around then the fight would not happen. So respect to Haye for agreeing to them.
If he beats Wlad then there will be no excuses.
I see Haye taking him out in round 8 or 9. This won't go the distance that is for sure!
Almost died laughing when i read that.
If his brother who people consider better got beat by an old out of shape Lewis then what would happen to Wlad against a prime in shape Lewis? Wlad is nowhere near as good as Lewis. He would of shat himself if he fought the likes of fighters like Tyson!
I don't really like either guys but i can't see anything other then a Haye win. Wlad looks so much better due to the fact the division has been poor for so long. Haye will be the hardest fight Wlad has had and i just don't see him winning it.
Haye will just hit and move all night and dodge being hit. Wlad will get pissed off as he has in the past and just get sloppy. Haye will then either knock him out or just keep picking him off and win on points. The sad thing is Haye is in a lose/lose situation. If he doesn't come in and start slugging people will call him a *****. If he fights smart and stays on the outside people will call him a *****. If he is the one retreating from the far bigger Wlad people will call him a *****. If he takes a beating and then lands a bomb to ko Wlad people will call him lucky (just like with Lennox and Vitali) and so on. The only way some will respect him it seems is if he comes in, stands toe to toe with Wlad and doesn't retreat, wins every round convincingly and then knocks him out in the end.
Which isn't going to happen....
Wlad won't be able to keep up with the pace for 12 rounds, we have seen it so many times before with other big punchers taking on the hit and move type fighter, and the big puncher rarely wins. I see this one being no different.
