Haney is a dedicated professional with elite skills. Ryan is an instagram model with a nice left hook.
I’ll always support Haney because he is one of the few fighters that has always chased the big fights despite his young age. Flew to Australia to fight Kambo (with the Pac/Horn robbery still fresh on everyone’s mind), called out Loma for years then jumped right into it when the opportunity was present and then jumps to 140 and fights one of the top dogs in Prograis.
Haney deserves your respect and Bill Haney, too. Bill is a rich man but he’s dedicated to his son and puts himself out there for Devin’s sake. Devin is wooden and kinda boring personality wise but Bill more than makes up for it. Unlike the other boxing dads Bill is eloquent and fun to listen to. It’s clear he loves his son and will do whatever to help him succeed, and I can’t help but root for them.
Haney outboxes Ryan and wins easy. Ryan post fight says he was distracted by Illuminati pedos in the front row throwing gang signs at him.
You don`t have to be a killer to catch somebody that is coming after you. Canelo, Salamov, Ramirez, Arthur didn`t even try. It is hard to KO somebody that is only fighting to survive 12 rounds. That is the key. Beterbiev will go after him.
Bivol is a master counterpuncher. More aggressively Beterbiev will fight, the bigger will be a chance for him to get countered and possibly stopped.
Bivol never sits on his punches. Even if he lands the counter it’s not going to hurt Beterbiev, just make him reset maybe.
Artur’s hand speed and boxing skills are severely underrated, not to mention his accuracy. I reckon Bivol has a chance if he goes full Shakur and runs and potshots but I think Artur will consistently land on Bivol and wear him out for a KO.
Personally I’d root for Bivol only because he doesn’t associate with warmongering Kadyrov, who Beterbiev visits monthly. Fedor criticized Kadyrov and his teenage daughter was jumped by these savage Chechens and hospitalized as a result. Pure scumbag.
I’d like to see him fight Janibek at 160 if Bud’s still serious about Canelo. Janibek is muslim and has the size along with decent power and skills to make the fight interesting.
Neither fighter ever aggressively called out the other, only agreed they want to fight for belts when asked in interviews. The promoters didn’t want to make an undisputed fight between 2 pound for pound Russians when no money was involved. Neither are PPV draws and imagine the headache trying to promote the fight to casuals when the war in Ukraine is ongoing. You know Klitschko would have ran his mouth again and some opportunistic politician would have jumped all over it.
Gvodzyk is a b$tch. Got beat down by Beterbiev and basically quit like Ryan. The disappointment on Atlas’ face…
He then goes to Canelo’s training camp, says Canelo will beat Bivol, then post fight claims Canelo won GTFOH… Then goes to Zurdo’s camp for the Bivol fight and as usual did nothing to help his fighter.
Further solidifying his b$tch status he tries to antagonize Bivol in a tweet showing him in the amateurs on a podium asking Bivol if he wants to avenge a loss which was won by a fkn walkover. They never met in the ring since Bivol broke his hand in the semis and this soft p$ssy is implying that he beat Bivol.
Gvodzyk is one of the most overrated fighters period. He beat a 41 year old Stevenson clap clap clap. Who else?? If he wasn’t a Ukrainian associated Loma and Usyk, no would pay him any mind. Sparring superstar Benavides himself said Gvodzyk was easy work and Bivol hit way harder lol. That had to burn…
That said I got King Artur by late KO. Artur is special.
Haney has boxing skills that always got him the W, but power is not his cup of coffee. I think he can't crack even a nut, not to mention someone's chin. Still my money are on Devin.
Haney was weight drained at 135. At 140 he has more pop and Ryan fights with his chin in the air. Haney will be landing all night long. Maybe a KO is optimistic but it’s still a real possibility. I have no faith in Ryan’s jaw and toughness.
USA is and always will be the mecca of boxing. Inoue could raise his profile and fatten his wallet if he would commit to building his fanbase here but he doesn’t seem interested. Wonder why? Could it be as Floyd suggested? Hmmm…
This nonsense about zero interest in lower weights in America is pure BS. We have a sizable MexAm fanbase who support lower weight fighters and you can also count Mexico as American since all their stars fight exclusively here. Mexican fans also flock to Vegas, California or Texas all the time, and they are way more knowledgeable than American fans about the lower weights and have known about Inoue for years. Inoue vs a Mexican star in Vegas would do very well.
The problem is Inoue. Fighting once every 3 years in America will not build a fanbase, especially when you!re fighting no name no hopers like Dasmarinas and Nieves. Have him fight a name Mexican every 4 months and broadcast it on ESPN. Won’t matter that he doesn’t speak English, his fighting style and KO power will draw the casuals in eventually and maybe even set up a massive catch weight PPV fight with Tank which would net him 10 times the payday he can make in Japan.
Even with a 39 year old Beterbiev this is still a 50/50, and "overrated" is insane.
The only overrated fighter is Gvodzyk. Once it was clear Ukraine was losing the war this punk decides to resurrect his boxing career. This coward should be fighting for his country because he is not champion material. Can’t wait till Benavides beats him into submission. 100% he takes a knee and quits.
Canelo will save boxing from the soulless Saudis. Saudi fights are sterile money only affairs, all greed no glory, pure sports washing. Here, stand next to these Saudi princes for the photo, remember to thank his excellency and don’t forget to tell everyone how great and inspiring the kingdom is despite the human rights track record that make the Chinese look like saints.
Just look at Fury vs Ngannou, what a dull uninspired fight. Fury was too busy counting his blood oil money and couldn’t even bother to train properly. And no one cared.
If Canelo Munguia does a million PPV (it will), Canelo will be in a very good position to bring the Beterbiev Bivol winner back to America (where big fights belong) and leave sparring superstar Benavides punching air yet again. David will never be the face of boxing. He has no charisma, his claim to fame is his embellished sparring record, weight bullying, missing weight and snorting coke and boozing up during training camp. No one will get behind that bum except Canelo haters.
And Morrell lol. He’s gotten more hype for doing nothing than anyone in the history of the sport. Like every Cuban athlete who paddled his way to freedom, whether boxing or baseball, all overhyped and all always fail to meet expectations. There’s a hole in the ground filled with Cubans and Morrell will fall into it sooner than later.
One day when Canelo leaves us he will be met at the pearly gates by Louis, Robinson, Ali, Dempsey and all the greats who will welcome him and thank him for being the vanguard of boxing. And Benavides will be in a retirement home trying to convince the nurse changing his diapers that he destroyed so and so in sparring but he won’t discuss details out of respect but yeah, he destroyed them.
So maybe Marc can point out the numerous times they demanded a unification fight because I don’t see it reported anywhere.
What I do recall is Arum on multiple occasions dismissing the fight. I do recall Hearn calling for a unification after Canelo declined the immediate Bivol rematch. I do recall Beterbiev asked, in ring, after squashing Smith Jr, whether he wanted Yarde instead of unification and Artur said belts but he signed to fight Yarde anyway, then got injured, pushing the fight to January, further aging himself. WTF?
This notion that Bivol is the sole reason that this fight hasn’t happened sooner is pure BS.
