"When I wasn't killing time in school, I was sparing in the gym or selling crack on the strip", he recalled. In the mid 1980s, he competed in the Junior Olympics as an amateur boxer. He recounts, "I was competitive in the ring and hip-hop is competitive too... I think rappers condition themselves like boxers, so they all kind of feel like they're the champ". I mean, he has "ducked" a fwe fighters who a lot of people would put good money on him beating. I get the feeling if he has a shred of doubt a fighter could beat him he gets terrified and builds the guy up in his mind so that he thinks he will be totally embarrassed. This partly explains why he talks so much shit before fight imo. I can imagine him sat in his mansion pondering whether to call out Margarito/Cotto but nervous that they'll ruin his rep.
