I could care less about that. I did pick George to win, and if I wanted George to win, the only reason would have been to avoid the rematch clause. I didn't want to see that fight twice. Romero predicted it: "It'll be the most boring ass fight you have have ever seen." And it arguably was the most boring fight I've ever seen.
If there were no rematch clause, I would have preferred Devin to win. Bring the belts back and keep them nice and warm for Loma. Loma is coming for them ....
What do you think of Jazz music ?
Oscar will pull the same thing he has done with Jaime Munguia. Create an issue to keep the fight from happening. He knows Pitbull will give Ryan all he can handle. Oscar is not letting this fight happen.
Of course Hearn put Canelo in with Bivol. His job is to build his boxers. Next look for Andrade to lose the same way Jacobs lost. Hearn wants to build his Euros.
I think (not sure) Ramirez's contract with Top Rank is over after this fight. At least that's what he was intimating regarding not fighting Prograis before, that the reason the fight didn't get made was Top Rank not willing to work with Probellum. Does he really agree to fight Regis? Or with a potential Taylor or Lopez fight down the line does he re-sign with TR?
This. Top Rank prevented the fight previously.
I won't answer what question?? Boxing isn't fixated on race, you are fixated on race. A large sector of this society is fixated on race. But it's not the people you might suggest who are the ones fixated. It's the weak people in our society who want an excuse for their shortcoming, who want to be a permanent protected class, that are the ones who are perpetuating this myth that we live in a caste society determined by race. I'm sorry to tell you but many members on this site have been raised with this belief and they will die as weak men who always clung to excuse, who angrily screamed for respect while demanding to be a protected class who could criticize the so-called privileged class, but could never be criticized or made accountable themselves. These people were never men.
What sector of society are you speaking of ? It is very interesting that people can decide what others have experienced is simply mythical or caused by their state of mind. Until you have walked in someone else's shoes and experienced what they have experienced you are not in a position to judge.
You are the type of man that will tell a woman what pregnancy is like because you read it some where or have an opinion.
If you think people are not judged by race and race does not effect the way people are treated you choose to be ignorant and are in denial.
Oscar wanted it to be shown on both platforms. PBC wouldn't agree to that. Their platform on its own or not at all. If you believe otherwise that's up to you. I'm no fan of Oscar or Garcia, but it's all right out of the PBC playbook.
The circumstances may be different this time because neither is the Champion so neither really has leverage. It really doesn't make sense in the Charlo vs Munguia situation. PBC was paying both fighters and agreed to terms with both fighters yet Oscar comes and and wants to force them to show the fight on DAZN. I can think of very few instances where a fight was with multiple broadcast partners. Those fights were bother very large events. This is the same move Oscar seems to make every time Munguia is a mandatory for a fighter he blocks the fight.
You say straight out of the PBC playbook but didn't they just allow Porter to fight on Top Rank against Crawford ? Also didn't Oscar just say he would never have let Canelo fight Bivol.
Same could be said of Ennis with Spence and Crawford.
They hold the belts this is who should be called out. If Benn was calling out champs it would be completely different. He is calling out fighters that he thinks are past it and unavailable.
If we’re being real, Thurman will only be used as a stepping stone for Boots because that’s what benefits pbc. The most realistic big fight for Benn to make is with Vergil Ortiz because it can easily done with Hearn, golden boy and dazn. But since Hearn wants to keep the perception going that Benn is a future star, he won’t make that type of fight anytime soon. Expect a Benn vs Victor Ortiz type of fight instead.
Jaron Ennis is managed by Cameron Dunkin and fight on PBC cards because of a deal with Showtime. He is not under the PBC banner.
Interesting that Benn is always calling out fighters that are unavailable to fight him yet fighters that are available he has no interest in. Thurman gives him a boxing lesson.
