Dude, you're seriously a prick. The guy is showing off artwork, and you bring it to this level....... I mean, yeah I get it. You dislike the guy, because he beats Mexican fights. Okay.... The **** does that have to do with the quality of this guys work?
I didn't take it to heart, Calderon. The Marquez-Pac image is a computer rendering anyhow. I got his point. :)
Question, below Pac's right elbow is a sig, what is the significance of that?
That's my signature; a paw print with a quill pen and pencil crossed behind it. :)
Looks good! Something u worked pretty hard at getting right. Could u do a PBF one and let me see it. If I like it I will buy it!
I definitely do commissions! My next piece will be a Ricky Hatton portrait to compliment the Pacquiao piece.
Also, for the record, I didn't take offense to 'Dinamita.' He's a passionate JMM fan. I totally get it.
I don't know any of the particulars of this case, and I don't care to find out, but something just seems very classless about openly divulging the details of your marriage in such a public fashion. They have children together, there friends at school will read about this. Shane's personal business is out there in the public for his colleagues and friends to read.
This is not how you go through the divorce process, by letting the world know about your private matters.
Incidentally, Ry. Jin didn't come to me asking for an interview. I asked her for one out of curiosity. I'm trying to track down Shane to get his two cents. :)
they make it sound like Mayweather needs a promoter which he doesn't and really hasn't since he left Arum. As long as he works in conjunction with his opponent's promoter (sans Top Rank of course) then why should he worry about promotion that he hasnt done for himself already? In fact his popularity has happened after he left the one promoter he did have.
'They'?...Ernie, it's me, man! LOL!!
Anyhoo, your point works with where I'm coming from; working in conjunction with another promoter. It doesn't mean Mayweather has promotional firepower of his own; in the context of self-sufficiency. Sure, when Floyd freed himself from Top Rank, the genesis of his crossover turn didn't spawn from that. It was facing De La Hoya that did it; to be fair. He then rode the momentum into 'Dancing'; which segued into the Hatton fight. ;)
there is no conspiracy about it.. Mayweather priced himself out and retired and De La Hoya put his hopes in making a mega fight with Miguel Cotto which he would have said was revenge for Antonio Margarito losing. However, Miguel Cotto did not win and therefor that fight fell apart and with the two biggest names he could fight out of the question he is left to scramble for another big name star.. who else but Manny Pacquiao? Only problem is that Manny wants more moeney then Mayweather so it creates another bind for De La Hoy and he is stuck in this situation.
I highly doubt Mayweather comes out of retirement.. It could happen, anything could but I don't think it will. He's made his money and he no longer has the will and passion to fight. Plus, If he came back and didn't fight Margarito then he would officially be ducking him.
Really, the conspiracy angle was all tongue-in-cheek. Y'know, for entertainment purposes. :) But it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. All the pieces fit.
That would be MASSIVE if that actually happened now that I think about it.
Honestly, I think it makes sense. They're both playing the surprise card. This was explicitly Mayweather's reason for 'retiring.' :)
damn, it was a damn good assessment of what might be the truth. I infact never thought dlh-pacquiao made any sense for dlh cuz pacman left gbp last year and I can't imagine dlh would be happy to give pacman his biggest payday of his career. trying to setup a fight with pacquiao(the p4p#1) just sounds like a publicity stunt.
Y'know, I didn't even consider that!
And thanks for the comment!
That my friend is Maribel Guardia, thanks for the reply like I said keep up the good work. By the way, I think you should also do art on old school fighters that have just left us too soon such as Arturo Gatti Alexis Arguello Vernon Forrest to name a few I know you’d get a great sale on it.
Peace.
Wow...I'm diggin' Maribel. Damn...:hitit:
Actually, I just created a pretty cool composite Gatti reference to go off of. I'm really looking at making that my next piece if I don't do a Pacquiao-Mayweather work first.
Thanks again for the props, J!
I can't get mad at that, Deliveryman. Art is about critique and I appreciate the input. I like the Tyson, myself, too.
Do you consider the Pac and Hatton ones kinda cliched because of the flag backgrounds?
Thank you, jri9d0! Much appreciated! I just started writing for Max after five years of serving other sites. It's a great gig. I haven't met Doug in person yet but we have corresponded. He's been one of my favorite writers for years. :)
Hey, if you're ever in the Chicago area, that's where I'll be! I'll be covering Diaz-Malignaggi II this Saturday!
And who IS that in your avatar and sig??
Whoa, dude. I'm not trying to spam. I'm a member of this forum and I've posted my art here before. I'm also a writer who's rather good with Cliff Rold, Jake Donovan and Tom Gerbasi. I wasn't trying to cause any ill will.
Actually, I'd like to think I'm a professional, with all due respect, H2K.
And I'm not sure how doing a respectful rendering of Pacquiao is "being a disgrace to Pacquiao fans."
Congrats on the pics, very good pictures. Keep doing what you do, don't let the critics get you down, constructive critisim should always be welcomed.
Congrats again.
Thank you for the support, Pink! :headbang:
Here's what Pac and Hatton would look like as a combined piece; if I had completed it before fight time:

I studied sumie (Japanese monochrome ) water painting, under a living Japanese national treasure. This old man was the best.. Long story short... He tore up a few of my offerings and said, "perhaps sculpting fits you better." I was happy for his honesty.
Sculpting didn't fit either, but pottery did.
Whoa, that's insanely cool...funny how some doors close and others open... :)
