I'll be out in Vegas for the fight as I'll happen to be out there for something else anyway. Am trying to find out whether there will be a closed circuit viewing for the fight but can't even find that info... the event seems to be poorly promoted in many aspects.
Heres a link to the random spots in Vegas showing the fight.
I dont see the usual casino info about CC. I wonder if they havent sold out tickets to the event yet so aint doing as much or any on the strip CC yet. Idk how that works tbf.
Thanks - yeah the fight isn't even close to sold out so don't know what they're going to do about closed circuit. Not trying to spring $400+ for nosebleed seats LOL. The site you linked above does mention a Twin Peaks bar on the Strip that's about a 10 minute walk from MGM so might check that out... thought I suspect they might have something available for closed circuit by fight day but I guess we'll see. Thanks again...
Her dad has the money for good and corrupt lawyers to save her from real jail time.
Right - there's no minimum sentence even for the 2nd degree aggravated assault she's charged with. With the quality of lawyers she can afford there's a good chance she can get this pled down and not serve any jail time. Might even just be able to pay off the girl she stabbed to help the case go away. But she just better hope and pray that other girl doesn't die as it's a whole 'nother story if that happens...
Would personally like to see Roy Jones and Max Kellerman. Paulie's unrealistic I think. PBC currently has Stephen Espinoza working as a consultant (and probably something more once they get the ball rolling) and Espinoza was the one who fired Paulie. Paulie and Espinoza don't get along and have even exchanged words on social media. Al Bernstein or Andre Ward could also work. I like Shawn Porter as a person but think he does too much as an analyst... tries too hard IMO.
Broner was never legitimately a candidate for P4P. His resume is trash and his belt wins were just his side having money to pay no hopers with belts. Dude was all smoke and mirrors and whereas that’s the point where a promoter builds a champion and his confidence, broner saw that as his entire career. That’s the warmup for most fighters, broner ended the warm up and said “I’m ready for the hof” much like a lot of folks here, real boxing heads get into who you beat, how, and what condition where they in. Same reason Canelo fans can’t understand why we don’t think he’s the greatest or fury fans or Danny Garcia too. Nice occasional wins, 90% trash resumes. Example: Canelo beat Mosley, yeah, but by then Mosley was a three round fighter. That’s where so many future arguments will die in this sport with this generation. Broner just can’t get right.
Maybe not "legitimately" but he did reach as high as #6 or maybe even #5 P4P when he was undefeated and was still top 10 when he lost to Maidana...
In one of his recent podcasts, Dan Rafael mentioned one of the boxers on the Day of Reckoning card asked the Saudis for a higher purse because he was going through some tough financial times and the Saudis gave the guy an extra $400K, no questions asked. Rafael didn't name the fighter but I wonder if it was Jarrell. Jarrell made a nice chunk of change from the DuBois fight, but I believe he's still in the hole 7 figures from multiple lawsuits involving promoters...
I thought it was her mom who just died.
Nah, Yaya's mom was one of Floyd's other chicks - a broad named Melissia Brim. With that said, the lady that passed away did help raise Yaya from what I understand so there was some sort of stepmother/daughter relationship there (though Floyd was never married to the woman that died)...
She was under a lot of stress.. Her mom and uncle just died. I think anyone can go insane at any moment, given the right conditions... Its a breaking point.. I'm not condoning murder, or violence as a excuse, or saying its ok to be violent if u have close family deaths.. But, it definitely needs to be taken into consideration. Everything she has just gone thru.. think about it, her Uncle, and her Mom.. Is gone. That's all I'm saying.
Floyd's ex that died wasn't her mom, though she was the mom of 3 of Floyd's other kids...
