If Usyk is honest with himself, I wouldn't be surprised if he retired.
You think he is done ? The fight was not a bad night or did not prepare for it -- thinking he could walk thru it ?
" Strip Away " ..........yea strip away the Personalities, the Promo angels and just use common sense and he should fight KaBe this whole garbage of a fight that Yousick thru out there to muddy the waters is just more that is wrong with boxing as a hole and i do mean a hole but the promo boys will get there way they already have decided this is all just talk about something to talk about instead of putting fights on and protecting there fighters and there belts. Everyone plays the game and the fans miss out on the matchups.
So , has Usyk been overrated this whole time ? I've never had him above Inoue pound for pound.
Over rated ? No i dont think so but i do believe he has over achieved in the HW division, not that that makes him any less of a fighter but he there is something to being in the right place at the right time too........Now last night ? As Doctor John once sang.........
i was in the right place but it musta been the wrong time
My head was in a bad place, and wondering what its good for ...................
Got to cure this insecurity ..............................
Well i guess those that wanted the fight to happen got what they were looking for something that proved he could do more then just show up, and the promo boys that got what they were after and that was a win for there boy and a chance to get more fight(s) out of the whole deal. Me i felt it was not a match up to make and now the noise will be heard and the Promo money will continue to flow and then set ups with have a chance for upsets unless the ref or the cards have anything to say about it..................
What happens Usyk loses will be a rematch Agit should ask or will he be stripped
A whole lot of things could happen in the ring, there could be cuts there could be injuries there could be a low blow that is controversial who knows what goes on insdie the ropes, maybe his foe forgets and kicks him along side the head, maybe no one watches would be nice too.
Well he said all the right things so as not to offend anyone that allows fights to happen, but really dose he think for real that this fight is for the fans ? The fans of what ?
Well hope you pick some good opponents after this thing here you are about to get paid for, but if you get cut badly or something odd happens like he kicks you in the groin and ruins you then the end would be much closer then was imagained.
Allen is something of a curiosity. He was pretty much retired a few years ago and somehow managed to secure these high profile fights by winning some untelevised but reasonably well attended fights. He seemed to imply it was his wife encouraging him to fight because of some home improvements she wanted him to make, but maybe that's just his deadpan northern humour.
curious ? well lets see he has a name that they could jog fans memories or then a little added after that it was a set up fight for Mosses and there you go mystery solved.......
Lawrence you should rep yourself in court on these charges you almost had me believing you are innocent of all the charges. What dif does it make anyhow 90 days maybe which these days is no time at all out of the ring, not even out just playing the game not just him but the Promoters the Platforms no is taking PEDs serous at all...............
Hrgovic is clearly past his best, and that’s on him. He doesn’t train hard, he parted ways with the excellent Abel Sanchez in his corner, and that headbutt Dubois delivered never healed properly. He looked noticeably stiffer than usual in his recent fights.BUT — he’s still a formidable opponent and a solid top-5 heavyweight. Given the age of the division’s top fighters right now, he could realistically become the No. 1 or No. 2 contender very soon.
For now he is cashing out on the UK boxing scene.
He fits the plan of fighting Mosses ................ that is the whole point of this fight was to set things up.....
It could go in Wardley's favor but what concerns me is the beating he took who will he be when he steps back into the ring what will his reaction's and reaction times. Not just with Dubuois but with anyone. It is smart for the money bc it will generate a lot of attention from the first signing and with a lotta hype it will get the numbers way up. Who wins is the promoters and the platforms they are the big winners in the rematch. And remember rematch's are often a coin flip too much ridding to much thinking too much money involved.
Arum is the G.O.A.T. No one has done more for the sport. If you think otherwise, educate yourself.
He did a lot for Boxing and then like most he stalled ---> If you think i am lying try talking to me tomorrow ................
He and Don King are both 94 and still kicking.
" Kicking " is a little strong but yea i hear what you are saying also Arum is knowing his time is limited so his stable should be able to move on when he dose .................
Usually i say after a good fight and a lot of hype and retelling of the bout to move on, but not so here re-live it enjoy it whatever but still know how much this fight could have done for Boxing ..... for Boxing talking getting move fans back into or watching for the first time if only if Boxing were more accessable talking easy access talking somehow making boxing more mainstream again. PPV cards are fine only if you build up the fight by way of a lot of fight cards that cost less then a dime. The times have not changed boxing-matches sells itself but Boxing as a whole has got to make it easier to access, more available to more sport fans then the way it does now. I can love the sport of Boxing and still say that its promo boys and platforms have to love it enough to not cheapen it by making every event a money grab...................and a hype job.
that was a surprise i even shut it off after a few rounds figured it would go as expected, well my loose bc i would have liked to see it happen rather then hear or read about it. But that is why they fight the fight in the ring not on the screen or in the papers, my loose Chilli's gain. Make the money be cool Chilli never know what the tables will turn.............
This was a fight, no boxing was involved at all!
it was a fight that was good for Boxing shame it was not on the level of an easier access to watching it, that would have been a better result over all for fights in general............Fights do draw sport fans into the fight game ...................
Good fight you could see Mosley rock Bohachuk at the end of round 4 I think it was. After that it seemed like there was definitely a chance he could stop him.
i watched the right and yes it was round number four i believe at the end maybe anyhow i still was shocked when he knocked Serhi on the canvas but make no mistake he did just that and that is one of the reasons why i watch the fights, bc if i knew what was going to happen instead of saying i know who is going to win it would not be fun....Nice little card for a Sunday Night was not on the level of Dubois vs Wardly but most are not,
A thriller with not much talent displayed, neither fighter has defense nor mix there punches up, in fact Wardley did the same punch over and over again after missing you'd think about making a change, but no these heavyweights are just one dimensional for the most part. I won't even get into no combinations and throwing one shot at a time by both fighters
if this fight did not get you wound up you got a hole in your boxing soul ----- sometimes skill is on display sometimes it is just plain hart but there was more then one of the other but who cares when the blood is flowing and the punches are flying and it was a great example of boxing for those and other reasons, i just wish boxing were more available to all fight fans this fight could have brought some old and new fans into the game again and that is still important to boxing, .............
he took lots of punishment.
there is no way that Ward will even be the same but after that performance who knows well i believe i know that he has lost some of his self now that he stuck it out and gave the people a fight to remember. I wonder how much of his fight he will recall in the morning. the brain can only handle so much punishment before it shorts out ...............Thanks guys the ring needs more of these nights. What is that two weeks in a row of solid main events ? Now if we could make it so more fans could tune in make them more accessable then Boxing will really be on to something.....................
That was (very close to) a memorable heavyweight war. I believe whoever had a not-so-good opinion about either of them changed it at least a bit after what they both showed tonight.
Agreed can not walk away from that fight and not feel that it was special. Had just about everything just wish that Ward would have landed a few more punch"s to make even more intersting in the later rounds but guts and blood and up and down it was nice.
Author wants more social media boxers a la Garcia & Paul. I liked it more when promotors talked and fighters fought. Nowadays, even so called hardcore and knowledgeable fans make references to boxers personalities like it's a freaking dating game?!
Some writers said the same thing about Smokin Joe but there was no computers or " social " writers to be read at the time. Its about inside the ropes not about outside noise............
Once someone says it people look for it, i dont follow enough noise to even know but now this guy this writer decided to point towards it what a waste ...............of ink...........
