Does Zak Chelli's dad not care for him at all? This is shameful. He doesn't remotely belong in the ring with Morrell.

There is nothing more annoying than someone going onto a thread to say 'I couldn't care less'. So I'm going to do that. 10 years ago AJ was still a good fighter. 5 years ago Fury was still a good fighter. They are both way past their, fairly limited, peaks & Usyk has proved it to both of them. So, what is point? I'm sure they will make some £ but I shan't be watching.

Agree with Kabayel or Parker, Jared Anderson might now be available. Can't see much kudos in Jarrell or Deontay but they would make a shedload of money which, after all, is the point of professional boxing. I'm not sure I'd be interested in Bakole who is high-risk, low-reward.

When you think of how big heavyweights have got, I think it would have been impossible for guys that only weighed 180-190ib like Rocky, Ezzard Charles or Floyd Patterson to be competitive, no matter how good they were. All 3 would be absolute murder on any Cruiserweight now around &, with same-day weigh-ins & advances in nutrition they probably could have made 175 briefly & won titles there.

If Callum has made a little money & got out with his health intact then good luck to him. I think he will regret what might have been, including both a world title & a domestic showdown with Yarde that would've been huge. He didn't fight nearly often enough & you have to blame his management for that. It is a point often mentioned but worth repeating. The fighter is the employer & the manager & promoter are employees, not the other way round. Years ago Callum needed to go to his manager & say 'I need more fights at a higher level & if you can't give me them I'll find a team that can'. A boxer who just stays in the gym & says 'I'll fight whoever my manager says' is being foolish. You have one career but your manager can move on & represent scores, or hundreds of young fighters, & if he mash up your career he can just try again with someone else.

As soon as Ben Whittaker fights anyone remotely close to world class he will be knocked spark out, & good luck to the first man to do it.

Agree with Bread. If best Tyson fights best Frazier, I make Frazier 2/5 on. The best Tyson beat longer taller fighters with speed but also with looping shots that caught them out of their eye line. Tyson never could've coped with a guy like Frazier that bore into him & just threw punches & would be inside those big swiping hooks. Look at how Holyfield beat Tyson & Holyfield didn't, remotely, have either the power or the in-fighting skills of Frazier. I accept the Tyson that Holyfield beat wasn't the best Tyson. Peak Tyson has a small chance. He has fast hands &, surprisingly for a short man, a left jab. He might catch Joe with a big shot coming in, I doubt it but he might. If he doesn't, then he's toast. Once Frazier is inside that is it for Tyson. As Bread said, Tyson has 3-4 rounds to catch Joe coming in with something devastating. If he doesn't do that then Frazier just will use Mike as a punch bag.

Hope Shadasia is OK. Women's boxing really has become more like male boxing if a fighter can end up dead or close to it.

I wouldn't exactly say Andy Ruiz had skills. He had quite fast hands for a heavyweight & could throw a left hook. He, essentially, did not live like a human being. He lived like a pig or a cow. He just ate. I have some sympathy for guys who ruin their careers through drink, drugs or Ho-ing, but to ruin your career by eating? I don't think he is a cerebral human being at all.

Enormous respect for Regis, not just for his boxing skills, which were exceptional, but because he is intelligent, erudite & interesting. I hope he will find work as a commentator on boxing. I'm also respectful that, from the inside, he says Haney had the best skills but Taylor was the best all-round fighter he met. I would've loved to see the best Taylor v Haney. Saying Conor was the hardest puncher is slightly stating the obvious because he fought every other opponent at 140, & I guess they may have entered the ring as much as 150-155, & he fought Benn at 150 & Conor would've entered the ring at, at least 160-165 So, obviously, he had the most strength & power because he just was much bigger.

Regis has announced his retirement, which I'm glad about. He has always seemed one of the good guys in boxing & I wouldn't want to see him get hurt. He also said he was carrying injuries into the fight, which, TBBH, I think we could all see. As the smaller, older, physically more damaged man, I thought he did pretty well. He outboxed Conor Benn, but, I hear you cry, who couldn't? Benn can't box & he doesn't bring scary power. When he was at 147 before, 6 years ago, he ran from Ekow Essumann like a zebra from a lion. I expect him to keep running from anyone that can fight while shouting out challenges to meet guys at weights that are, obviously, far too low for them to safely reach or far too high for them to be competitive.

Speaking personally, and as William Burroughs said, how else could we speak, lacking the collective consciousness of (say) termites, I don't want to see Joshua v Fury. If both men are really serious about pursuing their boxing careers then I suggest Joshua v Itauma & Fury v Wardley & the winners fight each other. I genuinely think those are competitive bouts that would generate huge interest.

This fight was at 150. Conor Benn hasn't made 147 since he was 'caught using PEDs', sorry, since he bravely fought to show he had not been using PEDs. I don't believe Benn can safely make 147 but, as you've all pointed out, he wouldn't be in the top 15 at 154 & there are so many guys that would just roast him. I think he is going to manouvre around & look for opportunities at a catch weight. I'm sure Ryan Garcia will come to 150. That would be an odd one for me as it would be the only time I actually wanted Conor to win, on grounds that he is just a pr!ck & not a Whyte Nationalist pr!ck. I also suspect he will get a fight with Rolly, somehow, & that a title will be on the line, somehow.

Absolutely everything in Benn's favour, not just size, youth, height & reach but Regis is coming up from 140, wanted 147 but Benn got 150, wanted a rehydration clause, didn't get it. so Benn will probably be almost 170 come the fight & Regis maybe 155. Also, Regis looked awful v JoJo Diaz & was staggered every time the smaller, self-confessed alcoholic hit him. That could be down to struggles to make 140 but I suspect he is shot & really needs to hang em up. If Benn can legitimately make 147 there is not too much talent left in what has always been boxing's most talented division. I'd like to hope there will be someone better than Benn.

I think Usyk might be up for fighting Moses this summer. Firstly, he is a brave man & a warrior. Secondly, if Usyk can ever beat Moses, now is the time. Moses is only getting better, stronger & more comfortable & Olexander is only getting slower & closer to the exit. From Usyk's viewpoint, perplexing talented young fighters is what master boxers do. Its what Floyd did to Canelo, what B-hop did to Pavlik, what Pernell did to Oscar (only to be robbed) & even what Holmes did to Mercer. If it is going to happen it has to be this summer.

Russell Peltz, give him the $25k man, it is probably a quarter of what you made off the man! Screwing your fighters to the wall & then asking the great boxing public to put their hands in they pockets is not a good look. I gave a bit to Don Curry but I know I probably got robbed. Not going to do that again.

I think what will most be tested is Thurmans's brain. He is shorter, smaller & much older than Fundura. He is going to have to try to walk his man into one big punch. IDK how smart Thurman or his corner are. They need chess players not dice throwers. I give 'Keef' like a 10% chance & that is if he walks his man into that shot, because Thurman has always been able to hit like a MoFo, & he won't have lost that at 37.

I don't see any comparison at all, stylistically, between Moses & Mike Tyson. The comparison I always see, in terms of hand speed, fluidity & combination punching, is with Dynamite Dokes, but Michael Dokes was an alcoholic & a drug addict. I hope Moses is neither.

OTOH Im disappointed to admit that Joshua Buatsi, who I was very excited about, almost certainly will never win a world title. OTOH, I think the idea that he is 'damaged goods' because he looked bad beating Zach Parker seems absurd. No-one is going to look good against Zach Parker. The skill of boxing is hitting & not getting hit. If you take out the hitting part & concentrate solely on not getting hit then you can make anyone look bad. I don't think Callum Smith or Willy Hutchison or anyone, apart possibly from Benavidez, is going to look good chasing Zach around the ring. I think Buatsi-Hutchison 2 would be a very good fight. Ezra Taylor is jumping up several stages to fight Hutchison & I never like to see that. Boxing is all about levels (actually all sports are) & Hutchison has proved himself at levels way above Taylor. Taylor by stoppage by 9.

His trainer should have lost his licence. The referee was also completely out of his depth. The only reason Blackwell survived at all was that CES told CEJ to stop punching his head. It was a shameful situation, all told, but the Eubanks alone came out with credit. I'm sorry, I've got no sympathy for him now. To resume sparring after specifically being told you could never do that again was beyond idiotic, it verged on criminal & it put the young lads he sparred in an impossible situation.

I could see Teo being v competitive against a lot of good fighters but he needs to fight come forward guys. He is not going to beat Shakur and I’m not sure he will even hit him much.

‘Ocampo’s added weight allowed him to absorb the shots’. That makes no sense unless Ocampo was crucifying himself to make 154, and there is no evidence of that. If Walsh, at 160, can’t move a guy who was sparked quickly at 154, admittedly by world class men, then it suggests his glossy KO record reflects low opposition rather than scary power.

Daalton should be able to do what Paro did and out jab and outbox Subriel. But Dalton has very little experience at this level. I just don’t think he is ready for a man as strong as scary as reaL as Subriiel

A phenomenally silly comment even by Worsell’s standards, ‘there are scores of Smiths up and down the country’ . No, there are scores of Cholmondely-Smythes. There are probably over a million Smiths. There are certainly well over a million ppeople people in Britain who know more about boxing than Worsell.
