I rewatched.
Going into the KO round, I had it 6-4, Usyk.
Rico was swarming but smothering a lot of his own punches. Usyk was blocking and countering far more often.
A close, competitive fight, but now that the dust has settled, it's clearer to see that Usyk did what he needed to.
Premature stoppage? Perhaps, but Usyk was nicking it.
I would NOT mind a rematch at all. Rico can hang and he made a fan out of me.
Well thats about the same as me i did think there was an extra round i could have given to rico when i had it 7-3
Curious the rounds you gave to Rico
Was it similar 6,8 and 9
I think it was round round 3 i could have gave Rico i cant remember.
Get back to me when you do i gave 3 rounds overall to Rico and that was the 6th 8th and 9th

I plan to, because even without all the real-time hoopla and "controversy," it was a very fun fight and I owe Rico an apology for thinking he'd be a pushover. He made it competitive and opened up hell's gate for Usyk more than once, which is the mark of a good match.
Usyk is clearly getting older and it showed, but he's still a wizard even when operating at half capacity.

im interested to see what you think and i can have a look again if you disagree
I honestly am bamboozled after watching it again how Usyks good work was written off and how they were crediting Ricos blocked punches
Rico landed some good shots but not enough to dimish the consistant accurate combos and jabs of Usyk
you should all go and rewatch the fight as i was fooled last night in the madness

Im rewatching the fight thid morning and jesus these commentators are idiots but ill have to admit in real time last night i sort of fell into it and beleived what they were saying but with the excitement gone and me actually studying what the fighters are doing and ignoring the commentators all i can say is wow
Im 3 rounds in going into the fourth and Usyk has won all three ever so close
Rico has landed Two really good punches so far in all 3 rounds whereas Usyk has covered up well after or before some get through
When rico rushes Usyk to the ropes and does that shorts hooks literally nothing is getting through and Usyk is nowhere near as worried as i thought he was last night and hes outlanding Rico by a long shot so far
The third round you could possibly give to Rico but Usyk has landed far more
One point Rico lands a flush right hand and Usyk dips back and lands his own big left instantly which in my eyes from the clean work hes already done keeps the round in Usyks favour
You guys should all rewatch this fight with Todd the idiot Grisham on mute i am and its opened my eyes
Never trust the media
im now 6 rounds in
Ive just given Rico the 6th round
But gave Usyk rounds 1-5 on clean punches landed
The 6th was a very close round but i gave it to Rico as Usyk has taken his foot off the gas here
Uysk wins round 7 easily
Rico lands a very good left hook in this round but Usyk lands far more cleaner shots
the problem with last night is the commentators disregarding Usyks landed punches and crediting Rico for landing punches on Usyks gloves as he throws a right hand near the end of the round and they credit it to rico when in fact it was read and blocked by Usyk
round 8 is a good Rico round
Its the first round Rico has landed a big shot and followed it up with and accurate combination of punches as he pushes Usyk back to the ropes
Usyk does have his own success in the round but not enough to outweigh Ricos multiple landed heavy shots
Round 9 another good round for Rico
Rico lands more cleaner punches and Usyk misses a lot and has a low work rate
Easy to score round for Rico with not much drama
Round 10 clear Usyk round
Usyk starts good and lands 5-6 clean punches and is rushed back to the ropes by Rico evading his punches and as he turns Rico ,Rico lands a spinning elbow
its a clear Usyk round as he starts good with clean shot but then Rico comes back,he lands a decent right straight and quite a few slapping body shots in the clinch but Usyk seals the round with sustained multiple clean effective punches
Round 11 Usyk round prior to the knockdown
Usyk really starts to show how good his engine is
his accuracy is only increasing and Rico took many clean shots and the uppercut knockdown was extremely heavy
Watching it back Rico could have contined considering the time at the end of the round but he took a lot of shots prior to the knockdown and then a sustained beating once he was up so i dont see it as that bad a stoppage if the timing wasnt taken into consideration
So i guess my card is 7-3 Usyk minus the stoppage round
you should all go and rewatch the fight as i was fooled last night in the madness
No, three. Math an issue with you?
95-95 twice
96-94 omce.
Im pretty sure you said 95-95 × 3 and 96-94. That makes 4 by my count. Then again i used an abacus at school so who knows?

Official scores at the beginning of the 11th were 95-95 x3 96-94 Rico so Rico loses anyway unless he ko'd Usyk.
I don't score fights but even a blind man would have Rico up by 3 or 4 rounds.
So there were 4 judges?

As someone wrote - the judges also took care in cooking Rico. So easy to conclude that Usyk is a manufactured champion, the guy can compete with Canelo for rigged fights.

2 of 3 judges had it even.
Crikey, the sports not in quite as good a way as we might think. Absolutely no way was Usyk even, he'd won 2 rounds, 3 max. Rest were Rico's.
Shades of lennox lewis vs vitali klitsko in a sense that usyk looked out of shape like lewis, rico had the herky jerky movement like vitali. Vitali starched lewis in the 2nd or 3rd with a huge shot had him wobbly after that the whole fight and rico landed a few good shots early but nothing vitali did to lewis. I thought the uppercut was there but usyk didnt pull the trigger on it till the end, You have to point to poor corner work from usyk's side not seeing that. Lewis crushed vitali with the uppercut so many times. Obviously not a bloody mess from the cut like lewis vitali but both fights with controversal endings.
That;s good for Rico though, he can get a couple more paychecks - maybe win 1 or 2 depending- but overall, just go out and be serviceable, and he can rake it in before he retires.

HJCn6JXWwAA2_Mj.jpg (1200×837)I knew some bullsht was going to occur when the commentators said it's open scoring
and the judges had it even 76-76 after the 8th round
lmao
Rico gave Usyk a nasty headbutt in the first round did everyone else miss that
I was thinking Usyk hasnt trained proper or something just wasnt right with him or it could have been the headbutt in the first it looked brutal and Usyk looked concussed Credit the awkwardness of martial artists for throwing boxers off in boxing
Conor took the first two rounds against Floyd if I remember right. But Floyd has the highest ring iq and quickly went through the martial artist puzzle
Francis arguably beat Flabby Fury

dutch kiss?
:haha::haha:
Get the F out of here. We’ve already seen that twice, AJ doesn’t have the boxing IQ or heart of Rico.
And he still has Daniel Dubois problems.
I assume he means to fight Rico, like how he fought Francis after Fury.
