Boxing is the theater of the unknown, I thought like his brother Brandon was on the slide.
We are in an era where guys are not fighting regularly enough to get a good read on them. And that goes especially so for PBC or former PBC guys.
Figueroa from a few years back I would have said was certainly capable of doing this. But with inactivity, looking mediocre in his last fight, then more inactivity…it’s hard to know what he was coming with.
Good for him though. I’ve always felt that Nick Ball lost to Raymond Ford.
balls last 3 opponents were smaller guys moving up in weight. he was on the canelo plan. figuero hasnt even been a featherweight for too long but he knocked him out lol
Ball was very obviously just trying to wait for Inoue to move up and get a payday. Glad it backfired.
He's probably most upset that Figueroa was too tall for him to headbutt 500 times.

Brandon IS on the slide. Figueroa from three years ago absolutely mauls Nick Ball.
I think he is on the slide but going up in weight has taken away his size advantage.

These guys are far from master technicians but to call them low talent is utter nonsense.
Especially in a sport where Lewis Crocker has a belt.
That was very low talent. Both complimented each other because they are both horrible fighters.

The ref did everything to give Nick a chance. Don't know why the crowd is so angry.
He did... Ball wasn't even "there" after the 1st KD ... Ref would have put his life in danger if he had made the right call then ...
Nice textbook TKO... Figueroa deserves that legitly...
I felt that Ball was not going to have the gas in the tank in the late rounds. He seemed to want to want to outbox Figeroa but he looked tired by round 5. I thought Ball was winning the fight but not wanting to get into a war because it didn't look like he had the gas.
That was the most low talent title fight Ive ever seen.
