The fact it was a flash knockdown not a power one...and that he out ran him as opposed to outboxed him. At the end of the day they were even in what they did even though the things they did were of opposing styles. There was no clear winner in that fight and they were both awful in their own ways. Murt gave away home territory...and while im not saying there was a robbery by any means...that was the deciding factor in this fight because anywhere else and Kelly is booed out of the arena for running all night.
Yeah, I wouldn't say that Kelly was running all night. But rather, he was picking and choosing when to strike. I also don't agree that it was a flash knock down. I would agree with you if you said that Murtazaliev walked into it. Which it looked like he did. But there was definitely some power behind it. I'm not saying Kelly is a KO artist by any stretch of the imagination. But maybe you're right. I sometimes have to watch a fight 2 times to get a better understanding of it. But I was fixated on the TV. It was interesting to see if Murtazaliev could adapt and adjust to land his power punch. But what I saw in real time.....Kelly had a game plan and he executed it.
No Question its Fundora. Hes the best of the belt holders and neither Ennis or Ortiz can lay claim until they fight him regardless of how much hype they maintain.
I have Fundora #1 also. Ortiz has a decent resume so far at 154. Boot is maybe behind Xander if Xander wins tonight.
I mean I thought he did pretty well. What did he not show that you didn't like exactly? His defense was on point mostly. He showed flashes of power when he knocked him down, landed some nice counter punches, and simply out boxed him on the exception of 4-5 rounds. I didn't say he was a world beater or anything like that. I just thought his performance was good. What's wrong with that argument?

Never said he wasnt second...i said he wasnt first. As for your take on tonights fight. If you think.Kelly put in quote "a scintillating perfomance" then you should put down the beer.

How do you not have Boots? You can he isn't number 1 but you should at least acknowledge he's a very close second.

Fell asleep and woke up to the decision. Was Bak robbed or did he just not look good?
If i try to look at it objectively then Kelly probably eked it out. As a fan...i would not have taken the belt from Murt for a performance where Murt was ineffective but landed the better punches and Kelly was effective but on a hit hold run basis. Thats what i score as a stink it out draw. Not the worst refereeing...especially from the brits...but he had moments like the rest period he gave after Kelly went down...and no warnings for the excessive obvious running.

I was dead wrong about this one. Kelly is very slick, skillful, and full of energy. He made Murtazaliev swing at air for most of the fight. Kelly has really good defense, ducking, weaving, then landing beautiful counter punches. I had 114-112 on the app I use The average score card from the fans was 115-111 so I was happy he didn't get rob after that scintillating display in the ring tonight.
Let's rank the best at 154lbs who's number one ? Fundora or Ortiz ?

As much as his boxing style annoys me Kelly won the fight. I do think though that Team Kelly caught Bakhram at the right time after more then a year layoff.
I often don't mind the UK commentary but this was ridiculously biased tonight. Almost bizarre. All Kelly had to do was run, hold and punch enough to keep the Russian off him for the rest of the moments and make sure to raise your hands as if you're schooling the guy. That was mostly a guy who was avoiding a fight and he was getting beat over the last couple of rounds pretty clearly. The judges must have given him points for surviving.

He caught Kelly in one round and got a knockdown, but other than that he didn't win any rounds clearly. Kelly had a lot of one sided rounds.

shitty fight, Bakhram landed the cleaner harder shots, and Kelly clinched and ran all fight, both guys had a KD, but Bakhram had at least 1 KD taken away bc of corrupt UK referees, which isn't new. he also allowed Kelly at least 10 seconds to recover from a botched non-call KD

Not really a robbery, Kelly is horrible to watch but did just enough, and certain posters are finding it difficult to maintain their objectivity
