It's always scrawny, unfit, untrained skinny guys who say "muscles don't win fights"
Well yeah, if there's a massive gap in fighting skill, sure
But if YOU try fighting a bodybuilder you aren't going to be dancing around a lumbering oaf looking like Ali, as you imagine in your head, you are going to end up in a bear hug or headlock having a real bad day.
A proper body builder? An average person will look very nimble in comparison.
Body builders are incredibly physically limited in pursuit of aesthetics.
A well muscled boxer is a different proposition.
Focus on muscles works for no-one. I knew a guy who was a global level winner at bodybuilding. But he was brittle af. Snapped his ankle running in a straight line trying to play soccer.
They look good but it's a completely dys-functional build. That's why most people don't look like that - it doesn't work.
I'd beat him very comfortably in a fight and it wouldn't be close. He's effectively disabled.
Have you thought about signing up for Misfits Boxing?
Years back I worked with a guy who was 6'3 and about 250, all muscle. He looked like he could rip a guy in half with his bare hands and he could have I am sure. Worked out constantly.
He and some other guys there and I had lunch one day and everyone was asking him about his workout and diet and sports came up. He had played football in college but wasn't good enough to make the NFL so he went into boxing. He said he win his first three fights against no hopers and he thought he might make a career of it. He stepped up to B level guys and lost three in a row and he said he was beaten half to hell in the last one and knocked out by a fat guy who had been boxing since he was 8.
Muscles can work for a boxer, but starting young and learning the skillset is the only way to even try to fight at a high level. Most boxers don't work out to look good. And having 8% bodyfat actually can be detrimental when a little fat is padding for body shots.
Did you work with Anthony Joshua?

It honestly depends on the fighting skill. Look at Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Klitchko, etc. All well muscled and weight lifters. All big hitters and great boxers.
Obviously an IFBB pro bodybuilder who has so much muscle mass that they can barely reach their ass to wipe aren't going to be any good at boxing. But being well muscled is ok to a point for guys who learn to box early in life.
In a street fight bodybuilders aren't even great. Now a powerlifter could throw a normal sized guy through a brick wall. But boxing is such a high skilled sport.

I’ve said for the longest time and anyone else here would say the same thing muscles don’t win fights.
All those big buff dudes pumping iron in the weight room bragging about how big and tough they are ain’t sh#t. It’s all for show.
If I’m going to be in a fight, I wanna fight the dude with ginormous muscles. They’re built for pushing. Not for boxing or even for sports in general. Slow. Awkward movements. Gassing out within a min. Absolutely no cardio.

Canelo looked like an amateur bro. Crawford boxed his ears off. I get being a fan, but at least try to live in reality. When Canelo himself says that he tried his best but just couldn't figure out Bud's style and he praises Bud for how good he is and calls him alot better than Floyd....I mean are you calling Canelo himself a liar?
Incredible the mental gymnastics some fans will do to lie to themselves.
It reminds me of when that dude Spoon was around here going on about how Pacquiao actually beat Mayweather.
Flabby grandpa build puts a beat down on buffness to the level of a concrete statue, we have been living in a world of lies. Maybe my training should just be to eat gelato and several days of rest after.

Benevidez is a great fighter to watch. Every fight he has is exciting and brutal. I think he could beat both Artur and Bivol although they both have tricks in their arsenal that could potentially thwart that.
When they stopped it I immediately thought...you know, I wish I had gotten to see Canelo get busted up like that. But after watching Bud F him up, I realize that it would have been embarrassing and I can't really blame ginger. Benny would have hurt him badly.

I was hoping he would stop Norman. I don't care about either guy enough to really care. I just like to see good fights and Haney is a total joke with the hugging. He should be dq'd for excessive holding. NO fighter excessively holds like he does every GD fight unless they are hurt.
For God's sake. Haney fights like he just got hurt by a shot whenever any fighter gets anywhere near him. It is the literal definition of excessive holding. Awful to watch. Takes a real fanboy to defend that garbage.
Okay, "champ!"
Canelo the coward knows he made the right move by ducking

He won so you can't talk shiiiit like you planned! Go back to what you were doing, "champ!"
:lol1:
