Usyk got past the giant Fury, but could he have found a way to get past the jab of the Easton Assassin?
Usyk from the Fury fight vs Holmes from the Ali fight.
I give you Mercer definitely. Maybe Byrd. Idk about the rest. Now Bowe would clean up.
Let's examine who they'd be up against -
Fury, a clumsy oaf who's only weapon was size. A boxer with more than 3 brain cells would sort that out
AJ, who can box a lil, would be ripe for a fight ending exchange.
Usyk, the best of the bunch but not overly slick.
Everyone else.....cmon.
Mercer, Haye, Peter, Rahman, Brewster, Byrd would be ATGs in this era
I give you Mercer definitely. Maybe Byrd. Idk about the rest. Now Bowe would clean up.
Some say this is the worst hw era....but they must be young, dumb, blind or all 3. Ruiz/Valuev was the worst era.
And Prime Holmes beats the brakes off Usyk, without questionwhy prime Larry so great again

Thanks fer the comedy fellers. BS always delivers!!!
- - So Elite that Duane Bobick knocked him out of the US Olympic Tourney in spite of being tutored by Ali. Amateur, count as amateur. Bobick got sparked by a 20 yo Stevenson,
So Elite that his was the Giant SUCKING Sound that followed the retirements of Ali, Norton, Frazier, and Foreman. Tough act to follow, he did manage to defend the belt like 20 times,
So Elite that Bobick notched a Ring Ranking before Tubby Lar who was still skinny then. Still, he lost to Norton and Norton to Holmes.
So Elite that he chose to fight Bobick's alcoholic younger Brother Rodney rather than Duane. He didn't choose and Bobick was out of the picture by then, he was knocked out by Norton and Holmes fought Ken Norton for the belt.
So Elite that he was 23-0 fighting 5-1 totally unknown 5-1 Horace Robinson, https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/277, buried deep in the Young/Foreman undercard in Puerto Rico. Like every boxer before he gets an opportunity
So Elite that his jealously over 4rd Celebrity fighter 350lb ButterBean making bigger purses with more fans than Lar challenged him into a fight buried deep in the undercard. I don't know where you get this jealousy from, so I can't reply to this
So Elite that he ran from ButterBean for 10 rounds while Bean was laughing at Tubby Lar for the whole fight. If Eric couldn't catch up with a 53 yo fighter, what can you say?
So Elite that Bean knocks him down in the closing seconds of the 10th where embarrassed Tubby Lar jumps up to ride the ropes to the other corner while fleeing the Ref's Count for his last moment in boxing, I think he was 53yo when he fought Eric
And he beat Ken Norton*, Tim Witherspoon*, BoneCrush Smith*, Gerry Cooney, Mr. Snipes, Leon*, Berbick*, weaver*, Shavers, Mercer*. I'm not counting Ali because he was in decline, all others were in their prime. The names with the asterisks were Champs in the HW division at one time or another, some of them HOF fighters, I forgot he fought Holyfield and Michael Spinks too.
A lot lesser fighters than Usyk gave Holmes problems. I’d lean towards Holmes too but I don’t think he wins easily.
A lot lesser fighters than Holmes gave Usyk problems too. That's not how it works.
not at all you can be great with flaws
Naoya has a decent but not good defense. Having had his face broken
Floyd and Bivol have glass hands
Usyk is still great even with questions around his body durability
There isn’t any relevant evidence to suggest Usyk is vulnerable to the body. If the best people can come up with is an 18 year old amateur fight it really does say a lot. It’s a desperate reach.
It’s clearly not relevant.
When fighters reach a certain level of greatness people become delusional when looking for “weaknesses”.
It’s like people bringing up Spadafora schooling Mayweather in sparring which apparently proved he struggled with southpaws.not at all you can be great with flaws

of course
Shawn would be severely outsized
As pros Usyk is a bonafide great while Shawn is good
but Shawn does clue into the pressure style having success vs Usyk.

Again though, is an isolated incident really relevant 18 years later?
6 months earlier Usyk lost to Shawn Porter. Imagine they fought now. That’s how absurd the comparisons back to the Beterbiev fight are.

Holmes would beat Usyk without much trouble. Too many people don't realize how great Larry Holmes was.
A lot lesser fighters than Usyk gave Holmes problems. I’d lean towards Holmes too but I don’t think he wins easily.
vulnerabilities as amateur can carryon into the pros
Buff Guy Joshua was ko’d in amateurs then ko’d again as pro
Amir was chinny amateur
am I reaching yes. But I have reason to believe Usyk body IS NOT TITANIUM
I believe he’d get got by the great body punching heavyweights who proved their greatness in better era than Usyk’s

Do you think Shawn Porter would still beat Usyk too? Same timeframe…

I’ve seen others take worse body shots yet remain standing
Opposite side from the liver not far back enough for kidney
0:10 right hook downstairs

Usyk vs Klitschkos:cool:
It'd be good fights, not sure who wins.
The klitschkos were excellent champions but their competition was absoloutley dreadful
right spot, it doesn’t matter how tough you are.I’ve seen others take worse body shots yet remain standing
