Looks like Canelo keeps on being the face of boxing:eek: The night was a huge success.
Dana and Delahoya on suicide watch..
UFC would probably do better numbers if they had more loyal fans who don't automatically try to steal the fight.
You say this like the UFC hasnt been the most consistent draw on PPV since like 2007/2008....
Also UFC has PPVs monthly, its not like boxing where theres a handful a year. So thats roughly $1000 a year you'd have to spend just for the PPVs nowadays.
After so many years you dumbasses still don't get it. Canelo is Mexico's p4p warrior, has the best resume, and currently fights in divisions where he automatically sits at a disadvantage (less reach, height, and day of weight)... Their warrior fighting in Vegas on Cinco de Mayo or 16th of September is a national holiday and fking party. Canelo fighting in Vegas is a reason to celebrate their Mexican haritage and throw a huge party in Vegas.
If you ever go to an a Canelo fight in Vegas you can feel and see the energy. You have people talk about it all the time.
Also important to note is that boxing is more popular in Mexico than it is in the US. If you are American you know all your non latin or black friend all watch UFC. I had one one of my friends asking me if I wanted to watch Noche UFC and I was like.. Nah bruh.. I'm watching boxing.. My GF and asked me to go out for a friend's Birthday during the fight and so I went and was on my phone watching the fight the entire time LOL. Everyone who came up to asked me if I was watching UFC and I just look up all serious and say no.. I'm watching boxing.. Those same guys asked what site I was using... And I was like, bro...I fking bought the fight...
I can stand the UFC fan culture... And I even have a cousin who has a MMA school in Texas that I've trained in a couple of times. UFC would probably do better numbers if they had more loyal fans who don't automatically try to steal the fight.
Not official. canelo Alvarez’s fight Saturday drew a gate of around $17M and about 650,000 PPV unit sales,A SOURCE SAID
Yep, glad you pulled their card before I did. I swear these guys will go to any length to discredit Nelz these days, it's getting out of hand. Everybody knows the real number was 750,000 buys as was reported here by multiple posters earlier in the week.
Completely shocked by this number. This was a trash fight and card.

im impressed and a bit shocked, not even the slightest bit of backlash from the benny stuff, actually the opposite it seems, big numbers for a very unproven opponent, no wonder his ego is so large

It's a testament to the loyalty of Canelo's fans. It's a shame he doesn't reward that loyalty by fighting better opposition...not they they'd care anyway.
Hold on there Sir.
Wait until next week for the REAL numbers.
PBC are desperate LOL.
Meanwhile 95,000 people are turning up tomorrow night for Joshua vs Dubois at Wembley Stadium.
Up against a UFC fight down the street that’s a solid number considering the opponent.
How does that compare to P4P number 1 fighter Crawford’s last PPV numbers? Did we ever get more official numbers than the 70K or below that was floated?
I share the same sentiment with everyone being surprised at this number. But this is why he'll continue to fight subpar opposition because his fans will continue to buy his bullshit fights. Fair play to him, I guess.
Doubt Dana gives a shit. The UFC probably did worse on PPV but they barely even tried with the line up for that card and still pulled their biggest live gate ever and beat out boxing, the WWE etc to holding a show at The Sphere. Nobody is gonna remember the Canelo/Berlanga card.

Huge number given the context that nobody thought Berlanga had a snowball chance in hell and that he would get KOed…. Canelo still has the drawing power, going to give Berlanga props as well IMHO he did his part in selling the fight ..
