UFC needs to stop interfering with traditional Boxing PPV weekends.

It was definitely on the weaker side star power wise. They probably just thought The Sphere gimmick would draw already so they didnt need to stack the card. Its a shame though, they could have done much better considering the venue and that it was a historic first. All of their next 3 cards are more stacked and 308 next month is pretty much a triple main event supercard. Yes it could of been better. Dana said he doesn't want to go back to Vegas now.

Yea decent for people no one really knows. Their was no big names other than the main even. It should of been a Jon Jones and Machachev fighting on the SAME night. I’ll be shocked if this card did 400,000 buys. 750k? That’s extremely hard to believe. Shit matchups at $90 dollars.

This weekend's card sucked anyway for boxing. With the exception of Plant-McComby, and if you're not a Canelo diehard, the event was quite lackluster. Garcia-Lara almost put me to sleep and was without a doubt the most disappointing part of the event. I was looking forward to see Garcia come back and he was already a shell of himself. Crazy that the 41yr old did it... yet again.

Did you watch the actual full card or just the main event? I thought the UFC card was way better tbh, the main and co-main werent great but the rest of the card had solid action. Ortega/Lopes and Zellhuber/Ribovics were better than any of fights on the Canelo card, plus it had the Sphere setting and a much stronger atmosphere. The main event was never gonna be a recipe for fireworks but it was a much more intriguing and hard to call match up than Canelo/Berlanga going in, and the result is much more consequential to the grand scheme of things too. Personally i thought the UFC card was HORRIBLE but you wouldn't know that. Not even a competition with Canelo. Did you watch the actual full card or just the main event? Juneteenth, Cinco de Mayo, and Mex independence weekend have ALWAYS been reserved for BOXING fans. Take this weekend for instance, Canelo and Berlenga pulled 750k buys, It would have easily been 1 Million Plus if Dana White didn't put his greasy little hands in the pot. Its a totally different game. I got no problems with it. I can see a casual being upset by it. 98% of boxing fans could never understand the intricacies of MMA. They just think they rolling around. This has nothing to do with UFC If 750.000 boxing fans are going to buy a mismatch then boxing fans are doing this to themselves.

UFC can do whatever they want they can host those events for cheap because the fighters get paid a fixed amount and there is no shortage of good fighters than come into the ranks.

Well Canelo/Berlanga completely destroyed the ufc this past weekend. I don't know what the ufc was thinking putting a complete unknown Georgian and krysisstan fighters in the two main fights. Lol In terms of spectacle and entertainment value the UFC card was better, even though the main and co-main were meh. But yeah, star power wise the UFC really half assed things. I guess they thought the Sphere was enough to sell it so they saved bigger fights for other cards. If it had been the line up for any of their next 3 PPVs going head to head with that Canelo card instead they would have done a lot more damage most likely.

UFC and boxing crossover audience is probably less than 5%. Its probably more like 25% if not more. Go look at the boxing sub forum on Sherdog or (before it got nuked) boxing threads on the UG, they're practically as active as here.
