Well sure, but those folks and that energy was still for Ginger. Are you suggesting that if Turki and Ginger's event were switched, Bud or the other's on that card would have generated the same energy?? Turki's event was just down the street and no way did Noche Mexico produce the same energy. I streamed both events and their was quite the difference in reception and fan cheering from both events.
But if you honestly think that Ginger wouldn't have sold the event out nor produced the same level of excitement from his fans had it been held on a different day, well you're entitled to your opinion.
There's a reason the guy is given those Mexican dates and it isn't just because he's Mexican. The guy has a tremendous fan base that no other Mexican since Chavez has had. Neither Marquez nor MAB who I am a fan of never had the same amount of support...
I'm saying Mex Independence day weekend and cinco de mayo weekend are the 2 biggest fight weekends in boxing, regardless of whos fighting. Mayweather, Pac fought on those weekends as well and did great numbers. Boxing kind of always was low key during the summer, kind of always has been for some weird reason.
There's a reason why those dates have become big boxing days, and it's not just because it's Canelo. He's not "given" those dates, as much as he knows the event will naturally be bigger because it's precisely that weekend. His fan base will support him no matter what, but having a fight on either of those holidays will undoubtedly help.
I agree with you, but there have been other, better(in my opinion) Mexican Boxers such as Marquez, Morales, MAB, etc.. who didn't sell like Ginger does nor had those dates on lock. Did you hear how loud those fans were for Canelo??? Those fans were there to celebrate Canelo, they weren't in Vegas Celebrating Mexico's Independence and just happened to pay good money to watch a Mexican fight...
Those fans of his are hardcore fans and will fill up Arenas just to be a part of his event. Does he warrant such loyalty???? I don't know that he does or doesn't but his legion of fans obviously do. Anyone trying to discredit his drawing power is fooling themselves.....

He definitely doesn't look neither fat nor old, but he did appear to be breathing heavily early in the fight. By the 4th round I believe. He's also telegraphing that over hand right quite a bit and missed by a mile on a few occasions. I honestly think he's got 1, maybe 2 big fights left in him.
Canelo/Munguia II and Canelo/Berlanga II
Fight was on mex independence weekend lol.

I'll respectfully disagree. I do believe anyone of either Bivol, Benavidez or Bud are big fights and I think he'll fight one of them within a year's time. As for any other names, I wouldn't call those big fights, but they are big events. The guy has a huge following still which is why he'll still be able to fill 20,000 seat arenas and generate a huge purse without Turki's oil money.
There was quite the difference in energy between this card and Turki's card in LA and in my opinion, Turki's event was a better card with way better matches, yet still lacked the energy that Ginger's fight against Berlanga produced. Crowd speaking that is...
Ginger's fans were loud and supportive in contrast to the fans that were at Turki's event. Shoot, I heard boos while Bud was fighting, although unwarranted in my opinion.

he has 0 big fights left. he has lots of fights left although hes just going to pretend they are big. if you can trick the people then its just like having a real big fight

I thought Canelo looked like a fat old man in the Berlanga fight.

I'm tired of arguing with those cult followers.
Last time he let the public know how much he weighed fight night, he was 155/177, after that it was a secret,
