Probably the only way he gets Canelo to fight him is to take punishment against the winner of that fight. If he wins, Canelo will likely make it a CW for David’s belts. If he loses, Canelo will offer him a 168lb title shot, forcing him to drop down. Either way David will have to drop weight which will make him diminished, especially if he has to get all the way down to 168.
