Deontay Wilder will NOT be retiring. Can we see Martin Bakole vs Deontay Wilder next please Mr Turki alal Shikh? Even Wilder's mother wants him to retire but he got different ideas. I expect Wilder to get stretchered soon rather then later. He won't be fighting ordinary fighters with no skill - it's going to be the top heavyweights from now on. Great weekend of boxing and lots of people crying/making excuses.
Taking your losses at the END of his career instead of his prime is the way you're supposed to do it, another feather in his cap.
All these guys caught real beatings at an earlier age than wilder did:
Buster Douglas, 20 v. Bey
Wladimir Klitschko, 22 v. Purity
Mike Tyson, 23 v. Douglas
Shannon Briggs, 24 v. Wilson
Joseph Parker, 25 v. Joshua
Leon Spinks, 25 v. Coetzee
George Foreman, 25 v. Ali
Riddick Bowe, 26 v. Holyfield II
Michael Moorer, 27 v. Foreman
Dillian Whyte, 27 v. Joshua
Vitali Klitschko, v. 28 v. Chris Byrd
Anthony Joshua, 29 v. Ruiz
Muhammad Ali, 29 v. Frazier
Lennox Lewis, 29 v. McCall
Joe Frazier, 29 v. Foreman
Evander Holyfield, 30 v. Bowe
Michael Spinks, 31 v. Tyson
Deontay Wilder, 34 vs. Fury II
And, Wilder's first loss was to the one linial world's Champion!
He can continue to cash out if that's his choice, and he's being paid millions and millions to do it.
48 Fights, 8 years on top, 10 defences; we don't expect much more from America's Champion.
But when he fights now, he earns each time more than the warriors here at Boxing Scene will make in their lifetimes.
He never got to add carefully managed Joshua's scalp to his collection, make Joshua quit while standing again as he did against Ruiz in the fight Ruiz had trained for....if he could get up against Wilder's kind of power!
The only regret.
Can he break Kownacki`s record with 5 back to back losses? I believe in him.
Man, as hard as many laugh at Kownacki, his fights vs Helenius were heartbreaking to watch.
Kow was on the rise, big Polish following, his wife watching and then BAM everything went down the drain.
Deontay needs to fight someone who has tough chin but hasn't a chance to win, because wilder wants reputation as one of era hardest hitters? So your going to have to ko someone with tough chin. Maybe jarrel Millar but not sure wilder can best jarrell
Who fits the description of having tough chin but wouldn't be expected to beat wilder!
He should definitely retire, but if he continues that is the fight he should try to make next.
Will there be any money in the fight?
If the Saudi promotional company doesn't bankroll the fight it would be a short money fight for both fighters. Ngannou has a MMA contract with the PFL that guarantees low 7 figures a fight. I'm not sure that fight would be worth more than that after seeing both fighters badly knocked out in their previous fights.
I always had so much hope in wilder he had potential but he was his own worst enemy in the end. I think he could still have a few fights to pad a retirement fund. He KOs a couple lower level guys be could eventually cash out vs Joshua, usyk or Andy Ruiz. He still has power but he should probably take the year off to get his head back underneath him.
Personally I think he should fight 6 bums in 6 months and get 6 straight Ko's, then step him back up for one last go.

You just describes his entire career.
Haha, I know many people think so, but that's not true. He took a long time to develop, but when he peaked he was dangerous. I know all the Wilder haters (not calling you one) will discredit it but his wins over Ortiz were legitimately good, as good as any outside of beating Klitschko, Fury or AJ. He also beat some other solid heavies to solidify himself as a top heavyweight.
He just doesn't look like the same fighter he used to be. The money making opportunities may be clouding his judgment, but if he truly wants to get back to where he used to be he needs to lower his competition level a bit and work his way up. Take the AJ route to rebuild his confidence with in-ring activity at a lower competition level.

HW division has been sucking so hard for the past two decades or so that one can fight till very old age. Wilder may be 38 but he can still continue. No big deal.

Deontay prob won't even fire Malik Scott lmao
Imagine you train to fight a 290 lb guy and come in at 210. They didn't know ow Zhang would be a bit lighter.
Worst trainer ever
