Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - ESPN+/DAZN - Fight by Fight thread

Many think the referee stepped in too soon and saved Fury from being knocked out. I think the ref did a great job through out the whole fight. He waited until Fury fell against the ropes, that was the knock down, and then the bell rang. Nothing fishy.

Fury did very well to stumble around eating up the clock and not hit the canvass letting the ropes hold him up where the ref was forced to call it a kd. I'll give Fury credit for that and his ability to recover but man his chin is trash getting knocked around by a fighter 40lbs lighter than him who isn't a huge puncher. His punch resistance could be fading. He has abused his body and was in 2 wars with Wilder( I don't count the 2nd fight as that was one way traffic) plus he is getting old for a heavyweight boxer.

The above is what happens when one is an emotional hero worshipper. You make a fool of yourself in public. Insulting Usyk seems to be his only purpose on this forum. The anger runs deep.

I've been saying it for years that Fury is overrated, and now he's been well and truly exposed. He's a great heavyweight, but nowhere close to GOAT status like his blind fanboys were making him out to be. But now Usyk has earned his place among the GOAT boxers. It's an incredible feat for a natural cruiserweight to dominate the heavyweight division. The last time a boxer did that was Muhammad Ali, only because there was no cruiserweight division in his time so Ali was basically a natural cruiserweight dominating heavyweights.

- - Not a tax expert, but back in the day, Madison Square Garden had a Jerry Quarry fight lined up for Big George Foreman where the gummint was going to get something like 50% of a couple $mil. Instead Foreman took the Japanese offer vs Jose Roman for the same $$$ tax free, the whole reason Brits and Yanks create these offshore accounts in exotic tropical islands. BTW, for that reason George won his first title fight in Jamaica vs Joe Frazier, defended vs Ken Norton in Venezuela save they lied to him and he had to pay bribe $$$ to get out. Lost his title in Zaire, Africa to Ali tax free for $5mil each. Doesn't the US tax you even on foreign income?

Couple of decent upsets in this pickem assortment. Didn't expect Cordina to get stopped but at least my multiplier wasn't wasted despite choosing the wrong outcome. I was never very high on Frank Sanchez but I did have high hopes for Joe Cordina.

Wow! Yes! That was the best fight ever! Lots of credit goes to all of those involved in making this historic fight happening. Thank you. Boxing needed this fight and it truly delivered! The fight was very entertaining and also ultra competitive. Tyson Fury did great and he's still one of the elite! Oleksandr Usyk is amazing! The way he can adjust in fights is incredible, he's the most technical but also his mental strength is among the best in Boxing! Oleksandr Usyk is truly great and a classy man! It was an honour to watch this epic fight! I'm so happy with this result! The fighter many of us supported got his well deserved respect. Great win for Oleksandr Usyk and congratulations to him on becoming the Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion!​

It is unfortunate that some of these fights the ref becomes a serious topic and not in a positive way. It’s been that way for some time Unfortunate , definitely But no fix insight

I thought so too that when Fury fell on the ropes he should had given him an 8 count. I was going for Usyk but thought Fury was going to win. I thought it was close with the right guy winning.
