How would a fight with Morell and Benavidez play out? Morell seems to be the only one calling out Benny. I wanna see Benny in there with another young big man who can actually crack with both hands
Idk about all the previous stuff you brought up. I don't see it as relevant to where Andrade was in his career & where David M is in his career, but I would like to see David M fight David B eventually too. Just not next. Hes skipping some steps if he fights David B next & for a guy with potential whos still young it don't make a lot of sense to me.
Agreed with this. It would make sense for Benavidez to get rid of him early if he can't get the Canelo fight in May, but it's not a good time for Morrell. The rest of it was pointing out that Morrell's resume is in no way worse than Andrade's. He's actually got a better level of competition than Andrade up until the recent fight when Andrade imo got exposed. Benavidez has a better resume for sure though. Wasn't that great before the Plant fight, when his best win was Dirrell, but hey. I think it's pretty clear that Morrell has fought the best guys that would sign to fight him though. It's got to be even harder now after he put an undefeated knockout artist into a coma and flattened an Olympic medalist.
I think Morrell should fight Plant, Andrade or ? first.
3 fights in 2024, then fight Canelo or Benividas in 2025.
I seriously doubt it though. They will build up the fight for at least 2 years
If both were to fight right now, I probably would go with Benavidez winning by UD, Morrell has good footwork and is the bigger puncher between the two, but his style isn't to fight while moving like let's say Erislandy Lara. He either moves around to recover/adjust or fully engage with his opponent. Reason why he sticks close despite getting hit is to find an opening to counter like Gervonta Davis. Reason why guys like Henderson and Aidos managed to buzz him whenever he goes for it when he has the upper hand.
I think Benavidez's IQ will limit Morrell to a degree and output will be difficult to handle in a fight in the pocket. He can try to jab, throw hooks and combinations while coming in or out, but stylistically he isn't a Caleb Plant so it be difficult to do so as successfully.
He is 10 times the boxer plant is, and one punch ko in both hands, as big as benavidez, hasn't reach his prime yet and probably faster. Some people are erroneously claiming that he has faced only trash fighters, they forgot or hasn't done they homework that benavidez only started to fight that same opposition, from his twelve fight on and stepped up in his last two with plant and andrade. I see an even fight between two young fighters.

Aidos and Henderson buzz him? When was that, he only has 9 fights but I haven't seen anyone buzz him and probably hasn't lost two rounds in his entire career.
What you guys did with Andrade your now doing it with Morrell hype for fighting literally nobody.
Benavidez butchers Morrell up in brutal fashion.
Yeap, that's why he took andrade and rejected Morell jr.
The thing is David M hasn't even fought with guys who can give him problems. If you wanna be critical of David B's resume you gotta look at David M's resume & realize it makes Andrade, let alone David B, look like HOF level sh^t in comparison.
Andrade's best win was his split against Culcay... He literally backed out of a fight against Olympic bronze medalist Yamaguchi Falcao, who Morrell destroyed in the first round.
I don't think Morrell's resume is amazing, but I don't see how it's worse than Andrade's. Aidos Yerbossynuly wasn't a slouch either. Undefeated at the time of the fight, and his opponents had a combined record of 203-42-6 (80.9% win rate). There's plenty of contenders who have a worse win-loss ratio for their opponents. Berlanga's opponents were 296-77-17 (75.9% win rate). And Morrell put him into a coma. Alantez Fox fought Andrade to a decision. Morrell stopped him.
Just for a little more comparison, although I know numbers don't tell the whole picture:
Andrade's opponents have a combined record of 561-113-17 (81.2% win rate).
Morrell's opponents are at 160-19-7 (86% win rate).
Benavidez' opponents are 416-90-11 (80.5% win rate)
It's not like he'd be the first guy with a good amateur record to get fast tracked. Take Loma, for example.
He's absolutely still unseasoned, but he passes the eye test and I'd like to see him fight Benavidez eventually. That fight would be fireworks. I don't mind if he wants to feast on some of the bigger names that are lower level, like Munguía, Berlanga etc though.
You really think carnela gonna be around long enough for Morrell to have 15 more fights? :lol1:
Bruh, Morrell not ready for Canelo right now, the blowback would be that Canelo's picking on a green, inexperienced fighter if that fight were to happen.

Ridiculous. Dude has a big amateur background as well Olympic. In 15 fights Bena and ginger will be gone. If Morrell ain't ready now he never will be
Maybe Benavidez but ginger spice isn't going anywhere, he'll be reigning over Super Middleweight for a very long time.
So Benavidez is a killer because he beat a blown up middleweight?
We will see how he does when he faces guys that belong to this division. We already know he had trouble with Plant.
So you think Morrel who has literally faced trash competition can beat Benavidez?
Why dnt you just go on and say it "I don't like Benavidez or any Mexican for that matter so I pick Morrell"
Your not fooling anyone you punk bitch.

Canelo literally fought charlo, a blown up 154lber whom didnt fught for 2 years, and he couldnt dent him.
What do you think david would do to charlo?

Benavidez is nastier than Morrell, and probably more capable in terms of absorbing heavy leather.
As of now I'd pick Benavidez to win quite comfortably, perhaps another mid-rounds knockout.
50 -50 fight for me
I also want Mbilli in these conversations.
Good call
Mbilli would be a great candidate
Morrell probably a better one though cause more known than Mbilli
Both good candidates, just hoping it’s not Canelo
Morrell still needs seasoning, he should be fighting guys like Munguia, Berlanga, Pacheco etc. Let the dude get more rounds and at least 15 fights before stepping up in class with guys like Benavidez or Canelo.
