He looked slower. By the rematch, and at the heavier weight, it was worse. Joyce crossed the line sometime just after defeating Parker.
low iq take
parker went on a stretch with no KOs for years. heavyweight malignaggi doesn't ruin anybody
nah he looked the same as he always did.

If you looked around a little, you would realize I'm one of the people who actually rates Wilder.
I actually agree with you on the rest of the stuff in this comment. The Wilder hate is out of control.
I beleve he tangled you up with someone else, or the general tenor. I always laugh at non pro fighters disparaging the talents or the heart of successful pro fighters. Average folks with pedestrian knowledge of pro-fighting taking pot shots at guys who cut 10-20 years off their life for this entertainment tradition? Can't easily abide it, having been around the fighters for six decades. Anyone who'd call a warrior like Deontay Wilder a bum should be sentienced to a night in a jail cell with him, telling him he's a bum.
Daaayum, the hate for Wilder is serious here. Can't help uses with that. I personally find him hella exciting whenever he steps in the ring and with whomever. I think he's got a lot of personality and character, even if it's not liked by many. He's just that, a character and boxing can use some of them.
Besides, I still got him KOing AJ if they ever fight  :boxing:

And he dropped the guy he couldn't win against 4 times. I'm well aware of Wilder's bonafides. What's your point?
then he faced a super heavy and went 0-3 with 0 KO's.

Wilder KO'd everyone he's ever won against.

He's got 14 stoppages in 17 fights. That's 82%. Wilder is 42 of 46.
But yes, he's got some good scalps on his resume. Just can't beat the Big Bang.
Wilder KO'd everyone he's ever won against.
ya idiots are literally pretending Parker isn't a pillow fist at HW lol.
dude had a stretch where he didn't KO anybody for years.
And yet....Parker snagged arguably the best win of his career last week. Fighters are funny that way.
Doesn't Beterbiev have a better KO rate?
Inoue is also pretty close. He's 18 KO's in 20 title fights. Wilder is 9 of 13.
Otherwise I agree. Wilder is still one of the best heavyweights of the era, even if Fury has his number. I'd like to see him fight some of the other big threats though. Him via Zhang, Joyce, Ruiz, Hrgovic, or even Parker or Ngannou would all likely be fun to watch. I wish he'd put some work into his left. If he had a left hook and liver shot to match his right...
I was limiting the stats to Heavyweights alone.
Me too. Everybody needs to stay sharp. If he's not keen on risking his top rating against a top 10er, I'd like to see him knocking somebody out.
Even now, for me, Wilder vs. Joshua is the one I'd choose above anything at Heavyweight.
As I stated as far back as 2020, I don't trust a guy to make it to the top if he continually eats punches. The wheels will come off somehwere. Joyce looked almost shot to these eyes in the 1st Zhang match. At 37 he would have been relegated to the glue factory in a different number of eras. Such seemed to hold true in his case in today's era. Curious though, I suspect Fury as being finished as well. If they had both met back in April it would have been very competetive, with the winner not going much farther, methinks.
nah he looked the same as he always did.
I'd have trouble gifting the hard work that Zhang did over to Parker. Joyce is known for taking shots, but others have taken much more and kept on truckin'.
Good points anyway though.

I can't agree with the Fury haters, the Usyk haters, the Joshua haters, the Ngannou haters.......or the Wilder haters.
It's armchair warrior silliness.
Wilder is a pure fighter who can claim.....
Olympic medalist with record few fights.
Floored Fury 4 times.
8 years spent in the top 3 positions, longer than any other Heavyweight of the era.
Quality of opposition on par with any other heavyweight of his era.
Highest KO rate of any titleholder ever.
At least Drew with every opponent ever faced.
More wins than any top heavyweight of his era
More KO's than any top heavyweight of his era.
More title defenses than anybody else in the era.
12 wins, (11 KOs) against ranked* opponents (*Ranked by WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, The RING, ESPN OR BOXREC.com)
More than anybody else in the era. (Fury 10, Joshua 9, Whyte 8, Povetkin 6, Parker 6, Ruiz 4, Usyk 4).
Never quit in a fight.
Retro rankings are available, but no "prove it" handouts for the intellectually lazy....Research it.

Wilder KOed pure bums.
Joyce beat Parker(iron chin) and undefeated Dubois, better than anyone WIlder has stopped.

Joyce is a good puncher. Ngannou sparred him a few years ago too. The problem is Joyce took a lot of big shots over the years and now his chin looks like it finally cracked. Maybe from the Parker fight, heading into the Zhang fights. Without that punch resistance he might never be the force he once was. Parker caught him with a hell of right hook but he only got stunned for a split second. Then he looked a lot less sturdy from round 1 against Zhang in his next fight and even more so in the rematch. So he's definitely got accumulative power, but he might not be able to take the return fire enough to make his power count anymore. Against good opposition anyway.
I'd have trouble gifting the hard work that Zhang did over to Parker. Joyce is known for taking shots, but others have taken much more and kept on truckin'.

There was nothing I could see in Joyce that made me think he could beat Parker. Parker moves much better, his hand speed is levels better
and yet

It wasn't just the KO, he was arguably up 8-2 on the cards.
So then I figured he'd bomb out Zhang...wrong again. I clearly do not understand Joe Joyce
it's one of those things where people don't understand, SIZE matters.
it's the most important thing in all of combat sports including boxing. Joyce fought Zhang who is even bigger than him and all of a sudden Joyce's punches were literally bouncing off Zhang.
There is a reason Tyson Fury looks amazing until he fought a super heavy. Even tho that super heavy never boxed a day in his life. he beat up Fury based on sheer size alone.
Fury's entire career is due to his size. his skills are complete non-sense. he was outboxed by many people like Wallin and Cunningham, then he just draped himself on them to gas them out.
Could be true, and even Parker isn't very good at all.
Parker really went 1-1 with a shot Chisora
He was dropped twice by Whyte and lost
He had a very close fight Junior Fa who was stopped in 1 round by Lucas Browne.
Parker isn't some high level fighter. He dined out on a very close decision v Ruiz for a vacant title. Ruiz is arguably the most overrated fighter around, just because he had one good night and lost his titles in the next fight, the rest of his career has been medicore, just like Parker.
Parker got concussed early in that fight with the crown of Whyte's head. That's 1 KD and one foul. Parker is much better than Whyte, at least he was at the time.
