Canelo might be top 5 but not number 1. Name 1 IN-PRIME HOF fighter Canelo has CLEARLY beaten...... And the future Hall of Famers were past prime and all the in-prime fighters he's beaten will most likely never be HOF.

I love Canelo but I just can’t prop him above other great Mexican fighters like Chavez, Sanchez or even Marquez. He’s definitely had a great resume and a well navigated career due to being the A side and bringing in so much money. That can give the illusion he’s above Mexican greats who didn’t have those luxuries. But he’s missing really separating himself from the best guys. Look at his close fights against Lara, Trout, GGG and his dominant losses to May and Bivol. Then what’s his best and resounding win? What I think hurts Canelo legacy wise is that he doesn’t have a dominant and career defining win over an elite prime fighter. He doesn’t have a better or more definitive victory than Marquez K06 over Pac. First GGG fight could’ve been his chance but I had GGG edging it out.

Is Benavidez that dope i haven’t watched a full fight I run by him once in a blue moon as he’s doing his morning roadwork with his boxers smart with his money. Still drives an older entry level Mercedes Pretty entertaining fighter, high punch output and impressive gas tank, hopefully if he wins next month, Canelo will fight him next year.

Alvarez VS Andrade Benavidez Beterbiev all good fights whatever adjustments Alvarez might make I don’t see him winning 7 clear rounds off Bivol. Maybe 4 Yeah, I’m still not getting the Andrade praise but to each their own lol. I’d take Morrell over BooBoo any day

In terms of excitement by Mexican fighter standards Alvarez is far from being at the head of the pack. Feet slow AND low volume switching from counterpuncher to stalker made him easier to watch for casuals. He presses the action even if he isn’t throwing I hate watching him because he stacks the deck in his own favor. Why would I stay up until 2am (full time single father so I’m guaranteed up at 7am the next morning) to watch a lopsided mismatch? You know what’s going to happen every time he picks his opponent, and it’s obvious because his groupie fans start making constant threads trying to convince us how undersized he is and how he should be the underdog. I’m pissed I stayed up to watch the Charlo fight because I was up at 6:30am the next day and the fight was boring and horseshit. outside the Bivol fight, I haven’t really been excited for a Canelo fight since the two Golovkin matches, and judging ruined that.

Real question is does Ryan Garcia count as a “Mexican fighter” It's a nationality so no. The 32th amendment of the constitution of Mexico says that anyone who has one parent that was born in country is allowed to have a citizenship. But Ryan likely never claimed it.
