Am I the only one thoroughly unimpressed by Joy Joyce?

I don't know why britts these days are so mentally weak. He looked just like Joshua prior to Usyk... No confidence..weird wibe. They don't say anything confident hours before a fight. Sad

Joyce looked like he didn`t even wanna be there. I am sure he took the fight only to prevent Zhang from fighting Fury and for another pay day. Warren`s games.

He's not a good brawler, there's no sharpness to his technique, he's static, he's slow, he hits mediocre for his size. Why should anyone watch this fighter? He's light years away from Joshua and Fury. He was always a bum. Grade A top of the line bum.

He is strong, he is tough, appears a nice (and stupid) dude, but that's it. The overhype is finally over. I give him a credit for fighting Zhang when he didn`t have to. Joyce got 4 nice paydays: DDD, Parker, Zhang 2x. If this is the end of the road for him, I hope he is ok with money.

Hes never passed the eye test and until fairly recently he wasnt viewed all that highly. Ive always liked him though, not gonna be fickle now. Obviously slow as shit but a big strong guy who had the durability and motor to absorb everything, keep coming forward and break people down. Not a great strategy for a long term career but it was fun while it lasted.

I thought he had good stamina, a resiliant chin, but damn didn’t think he’d get bodied like that. Overrated and over hyped. Next. He was precisely trash with great stamina and a great chin. That's not overrated or overhyped. It's just a fact. I don't think anyone was under any illusion as to what he was. He was exactly how he looked. But that was enough to get him to Interim Champion status. That, and the guys he beat, absolutely made him a top heavyweight. He was in line for a title shot. I'm actually gutted for him. He didn't need to take on Zhang and I think most of us understood that was a big risk to take when he could potentially just stay busy and fight for a title. But credit for taking that fight. It's just a shame that doing it pretty much ended his career at the top level.

He was interviewed before the first Zhang fight and was asked about all the punches he took in his last fight and if he was concerned? He replied “But I’m the Juggernaut right?” You knew it was all over from there. Zhang another big strong man, and a lefty is just all wrong for Joyce. Nobody is an actual juggernaut. Getting hit hurts. Love to see Zhang get a big fight. Fury is a different beast that Joyce can’t prepare you for… AJ, Wilder, Ruiz, Usyk, id watch also. Fury going to weigh over or under 300lbs vs Francis? I feel he will be around 300lbs.

I think this thread is a bit unfair. He's been good fun at heavyweight and has been in some very good fights to watch. I don't think anyone thought he could improve and it's always been intriguing seeing how far this chin could take him. Turns out that's as far as it goes. Zhang hits big but Joyce's reputation is gone. He can be hurt, he can be knocked out. And there's not enough ability going the other way. Once his chin was gone, and it was always going to go at some point given the shots he took, he wasn't going to be anything of worth in the division. Bunce's comments tonight were concerning. He reckons he saw a fighter before the fight who knew it was over and would rather not be there. At 38 I just hope he's got enough money to get out now. There aren't big fights for him and he takes too much punishment to keep going for minimal reward.

Joyce was (chin and confidence look shot now) the real deal... Against an orthodox boxer with no stamina (most heavies). The moment he decided to sign to face a southpaw, counter puncher with power, was the moment he was going to look like shit. Zhang is exactly the type of boxer most people avoid.
