Nobody is perfect.
Canelo has gas tank issues.
GGG even in his prime had speed issues.
Usyk has punch power issues
Tyson Fury has mental issues
What is Inoue's flaw?
Wouldn't that be a counterpuncher who gets the job done then
Cotto has a good jab and got handled.
Marquez jab wasn't as good but he handled manny at least twice.
Haney out jabs him for sure. I don't like Haney either.
For me he's similar to Bivol, not that they fight similar but they do everything very very well.
Bivol isnt really a big puncher though but clearly enough to keep fighters wary. But I think he's better defensively.
But when I look at those two fighters, there's seemingly not much to exploit, nothing too obvious. You could argue neither actually move their heads a lot but they don't really need to, they have incredible distance control with their feet. The one true "flaw" with Bivol is he fights to the level of his opponents, which means he can be lacklustre if he doesn't feel too challenged. I don't see that with Inoue.
People will say they have no inside game but who knows if nobody is good enough to get them in that situation because they're always controlling the distance.
Inoue can sometimes get a bit careless defensively in moments and you can land on him, but doing it consistently enough without leaving yourself exposed is another thing. Plus we know he's tough, he won a fight with a broken orbital bone...
If you're training a fighter to fight Inoue, I think you're kind of clutching at straws to find real holes to exploit. And even if you did find something (i.e him sometimes being open to a right hand), you still have to proceed with extreme caution because you know he can put your lights out in a split second, which is obviously going to hinder any game plan to a degree.
Thats why I feel Inoue is the most formidable fighter in boxing today. How often do you find a fighter with that level of technical ability, ring IQ and one punch power? Not very often.
when did i brought up race??????? why do you always have to resort to this?
i called you out on your post which is typical of you. instead of giving the fighter props you will say he has a flaw that will give him problem if he goes to 135-140, knowing it's a very slim chance of that happening.
so now you painted this shadow over him that he has this flaw that will be his downfall at 135-140, but since he will never make it to that weight, the shadow will linger over him. why cant you juse show the same respect you do to the fighters you root for?
i mean, we aint gonna hear this from you on a fighter that you root for after him just beating the best guy in the division in a weight class that he moved up too...
nice answer
you are bringing up the reach knowing he will never make it to 135-140. before all this, it was "inoue never face a slick boxer"... now it's "when he goes up to 135-140 and face guys with a reach of 72-74"... it's like the goal post always move further. like you said in the other post, why dont we just enjoy his victory?
straight to the point

I thought the thread was about his flaws so he named it. It wasn’t even a major put down. I watched Inoue for the first time and it was an impressive win I have never seen Fulton fight either but I thought he was tailor made for Inoue. Offered nothing offensively, tentative and can’t punch. I didn’t see any noticeable flaws but I was not mesmerised.
He's 30...That's about all I could come up with. If you were building a fighter in a lab, this guy would be it. I don't think he lacks in any aspect of his game. He's got the speed, power, athleticism, chin, punch variation, jab, footwork etc etc....
And he wants to be great, unlike alot of current fighters who just want to make money and coast along.
I just wish he was like 25 so I could watch his prime for another 8 or 9 years instead of only the next handful if we are lucky
All of his opponents including fulton fought scared. His defence wasn't the best, no active guard and his probing is basic, but he gets away with so many things. His style is not going to last when he gets older.
Inoue has great predatory instincts
However a lack of versatility means he will repeat the same patterns over and over. Reminds me of Manny Pacquiao in some ways
Donaire exploited some of these weaknesses in their first fight and tbh Monster hasn't improved massively since.
If he learned Engrish he would be way more popular
Inoue's a beast - explosive, dynamic, athletic and surprisingly faster and quicker than Fulton.
For flaws, he's the type of fighter that falls in love with his power so at times, he disregards his defense when he goes in for the kill and he gets hit a little bit.
His only flaw in my opinion is he holds his head up high on occasion and gets tagged with shots he could quite easily avoid...tendency to be reckless going after his opponent but he is such a sharp ruthless puncher he has got away with it....his best assets are his speed , KO power in both hands , killer instinct ,timing and his tenacity and his jab is quick and hard....great fighter for sure
Probably the same issues as Pacquiao. Someone with a really good jab could probably take Inoue out.
he has prob the best jab in boxing. he goes head/body
Not true, Canelo is a hybrid of pressure fighter / counter puncher. Look how many finishes he has had in the last 10 fights off a counter. He has one of the best pull counters in the game.
this is due to him inhaling an inhuman amount of roids.
he couldn't even hurt small 140 lb cotto with a fully wound up uppercut, landing flush

to breaking the face of a 168 lb champ

Low IQ take
Canelo is not a natural counter-puncher at all. He's forced to be a counter puncher due to his lack of stamina.
Natural counter punchers are cat quick with longer reaches. That is the ideal counter-puncher. Canelo is not fast and he's small. This is why he has to consume an unGodly amount of roids.
