Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. My main issue at this point is that Canelo might be getting paid on DAZN, but the fights on DAZN simply do not create anywhere near the buzz fighting on HBO and PBC did for Canelo. Hearn has not had a lot of success promoting in America and even with the biggest name in the sport, he accomplishes ****in' nothing with his promotions. Fighting on PBC would be a lot better for Canelo's career and legacy at this point. It would be, but I don't think absolutely anyone coaxes him into anything at this point. He'll march to the beat of his own drum, take the opponents he'll want to take (whether it's Berlanga for one of the easiest high-profile, lucrative but ultimately meaningless wins of his career, or a suicidal attempt at rematching Bivol which won't sell well on PPV but would be incredible if he could avenge that loss). If the Benavidez happens (most likely will), it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't matter either. His legacy was sealed a long time ago.

From a business perspective, Benavidez is a tough fight but it's a fight that isn't going anywhere. He can fight Charlo and then Benavidez. Honestly I'm shocked he didn't fight Berlanga first and I still kinda think that's what ends up happening. Like Golovkin, Benavidez fight will happen eventually if he doesn't lose. Waited at 155 for years, said "155 or no fight, I'm not a middleweight" dropped the belt when G became mandatory saying "Nobody tells me who to fight." He's done this his entire career. I hope so too! Press needs to go hard on him for this. Don't think any of the journos have called him out on it yet ? Distinct lack of honesty from those working in boxing. I agree but I doubt they will go hard. We don't have many journos anymore just youtubers looking for clout.

This is the same thing they pulled with GGG. Waited around until he showed flaws/age and then pounced on it. I don’t think it’s Canelo tho, the guy has a healthy ego and I think he believes he beats anyone. It’s prob Reynoso saying no to the fight.

Pretty poor by Canelo, thought he was better than this. A small part of me is hoping he's just waiting til May of next year so the fights a bigger event and he can be fitter but I doubt it...any chance of this happening???
