1. Spence was shattered by a car crash.
2. From January 2021-Present, he fought once.
3. When he enters the ring vs Crawford, his last fight will be 15 months ago.
So now we can mathematically measure chances of winning by either inverse or direct proportion. The longer the inactivity (15 months in this case), the lesser one's chances of doing well in one's next fight. We can also say the longer the inactivity, the more it gets worse. Who's fault exactly is it why people choose to go inactive?
Boxers in this sport are not held accountable for choosing to be inactive. They even get automatic slack for not performing on par. Props are not even given for active fighters, who obviously take more risks. Active, inactive, they're treated the same by fans.

Called it...
I think both have the same issue of blowing up and having weight cutting camps too many times. You can only do that so much before the body just gives up.
Not bumping to say “I told you so”, just to discuss this now post fight. I stand by my prediction where I thought Spence would beat Crawford (as I did when I made this topic). But I am interested to see people’s opinions on this matter now.
He will but it won't be like Taylor.
If anything, I suspect Errol will start off slow(er than usual) because of the ring rust.
Then again. he's stayed in shape the entire time out. So he could be ready to go.
But seen Crawford train? He's going hard for this match.
More than likely Spence will have great sparing with Charlo, Martin, possibly Garcia in his camp. That might help him tremedously and James is a good trainer.
Has he really been truly inactive? NO, because Spence Junior has been training.
So, ether the 15 months without no fights will ether effect him positively or negatively.
Sometimes fighters can take unnecessary fights, at certain stages of their career that does not benefit them.
I am sure Spence Junior has been consistently training, and working on his game 'Spence Junior has not been retired, so really he has not bee inactive'.
Wladimir Kiltschko was not inactive for 16-17 months before he fought Anthony Joshua 'Kiltschko had to endure three back to back training camps, due to Fury unfortunately continually pulling out of their rematch'.
Kiltschko was 240 pounds vs Joshua, compared to 245 pounds vs Fury 'And by his own estimations, Kiltschko stated that he was better prepared and in superior condition for Anthony Joshua' etc.
if so then both have a rematch clause so they get the opportunity to redeem themselves if they lose which I think is a great thing to put in place
both will be ready, never seen either look bad on the scale, both always shredded and on weight at weight ins
This man got thrown 30ft in the air and smashed his body against concrete. Came back and was determined to keep his word and fight Garcia, a dangerous counterpuncher known for his strength.
I admit he won’t be as sharp…but he’s a real dog with very little talking unlike Taylor. Means he’s about his business. Taylor took this fight because he thought he could rag doll Teo, small 135lber. Two different people.
He's been inactive before and it didn't affect him against Garcia or Ugas. He said himself that he doesn't need tune ups and he stays active in the gym. Non factor I think.

Yeah Kev I am real worried about Errol.
Im not sure what he might look like in the ring but if he isn’t 110% he might very well get beat up.
Hell he might get beat up even if he is 110%. That’s why this still is a fascinating fight. Bud is the favorite but lots of folks are picking EJ too!
MANDOWN!
