He lost a lot of respect from that fight, although I had it a draw, and not a Pac/Bradley situation, the fact is the vibe and aftermath feels the same. Haney came out of this fight looking bad in the eyes of fans and pundits, whether you find that justifiable or not.
Secondly, fans will be pushing for the rematch, and although Loma will be a year older, Haney is really struggling to make weight at 135 and the weight cut may be too much for him.
Third, he gets found out at 140, which is a weak division. But he doesn't have the strength, power or chin to hang at 140 and certainly not at 147. He couldn't put a dent in little old Loma and hasn't had a knockout in 4 years at lightweight.
He'll soon get found out and he's lucky he's avoided Gervonta thus far.
no, 7-5 is the right call. Neither guy won 8 rounds. let me know when you finish crying. I'll still be here. I don't care if Haney loses his next 10 fights, he won last night.
He definitely DID NOT win last night , most think Loma won . Haney was a monumental disappointment and this loss in the minds of everybody on the planet who watched this fight will haunt him forever.
Why would he be in a bad situation? He beat a good fighter last night, landed body shots all night long and look at lomas face...looks like he got stomped by a dozen horses
Because the fans and media all think he lost that's why he's in a terrible situation. When a fighter says he's going to destroy an opponent and that they are going to show the opponent how superior a fighter they are and the exact opposite happens . That's a very very bad situation .
The only thing I don't get is how is that Haney's fault? He wasn't the one judging the fight and if it's that close with your dad telling you that you're ahead wouldn't you believe it?
How is it Haney's fault you ask ? Haney said he was going to destroy Loma and he was going to show the world how superior he was to Loma . The exact opposite happened.

He lost in the eyes of the fans and media. That's all that counts.
The writing is on the wall, Davis puts him to sleep and he gets found out when he moves up.

little loma wobbled Haney in the 11th. Tank sparks him out. his chin is weak and Tank has cannons
There's no way davis can do that to a master boxer like haney and i will bet everything i have that haney will have an easy time with davis.
You are right you can't compare them.
1. pitbull has a chin but haney is far more skillful.
2.Haney size will make pitfull look like a 10 year old girl
3. Haney knows how to counter and clinch which will make it very effective against davis.
Mark my words haney will make davis look like a 10 year old girl inside the ring.
all haney has possessed are the floyd's strategy. robbery all the way just like he did last night. no chin.. glass hands and chicken legs. let's be real here loma is not a big puncher but look how wobbly he was taking that.. and every fans watching with their eyes open knows who won the fight..

Haney called out Tank & Shakur after the fight, but I doubt he beats either of them, at least in their current division. Tank & Shakur have boxing IQ comparable to Loma and are much younger, plus the former has one-punch knockout power on top of that. After that performance, I think Haney has a better shot at beating Loma convincingly in a rematch than he does going the distance against Tank.
Third, he gets found out at 140, which is a weak division. But he doesn't have the strength, power or chin to hang at 140 and certainly not at 147.
How well he performs at 140 depends on how much of a limiting factor his weight cutting currently is. As for the Loma fight, I do believe his body work helped him survive the championship rounds. There were times Loma was stepping back and taking breathers instead of running him down. If Loma committed to the body instead of mostly headhunting the whole match, I don't think Haney woulda made it outta the 11th round. I do find it strange that he didn't mix up his targets more, considering Haney tortures himself to make 135, like you said.
He did good outside of the whole hugging shit he did a couple times. Beyond that, I don't see how his reputation is tarnished? It's up to the refs anyway.
I don't think he is in a bad situation at all . He beat a legend still undefeated and undisputed, alot of different fights he can make .And has developed a ton of haters , that will tune in, in hopes to watch him lose .
To be honest, I rather watch a grass growing than Haney fighting, he is probably the most boring fighter I have ever seen and no chance I will watch him ever again.
I have seen two his fights, Kambosos 1 and Loma and that is enough for me.

You idio.t predicted it would be an easy night for Haney. deal with your own idiotism before you call people idiots.
I predicted Loma to win, but you are acting like Haney actually won a wide UD.

he got the win and there was no knockout or knockdown as you idiots predicted. I can't believe someone was stupid to actually think either of these guys were going to knock out the other. goddamn idiots.

Tank can't even clearly beat pitbull cruz and you think he can spark haney? Haney will have no problem disposing davis.

Well, he must fight them first. I wouldn`t bet that he will actually do that.
Tank is in theory the best lightweight, but he must beat somebody good first.
BTW, where is this WIDE UD win for Haney you predicted to happen?

You can’t compare Cruz to Haney.
1. Pitbull actually has a chin.
2. Pitbull doesn’t have the power of a 10 year old girl.
3. Pitbull is a pressure fighter, not a clinching ballerina.
Tank would really have no problem beating the dog sh/t out of Haney. It would be a matter of time in there. Not if, more like what round will Tank catch Haney hard and drop him. It would be worse than what we saw in the Linares fight.

You can have haters as fans, but be respected by your peers and some boxing writers.
Haney doesn’t have that, and has less of that after tonight.
Fans don’t vote who gets in the Ring top 10 P4P. Haney is the only fighter in the 4 belt era that has become the “undisputed” champion and not even make it into the top 10 P4P rankings. And that has nothing to do with fans. Those are boxing journalist telling Devin Haney loud and clear that he doesn’t have that respect yet.
At least Andre Ward seems to love him.
He doesn't need arbitrary validation from people who don't even like him. He will just have to be the bad guy and continue to do what he does because it is very clear that he is not going to get any credit from these guys and fans who will find excuses to hate no matter what he does.
