Perreira and Adesanya already fought TWICE this year. 2 sensational KO's.
Usyk and Fury are still dancing around the table like phaggits. How much of a beta cuckold are you to even follow this sport? LMFAO @ you. Ded fkn srs.
What you call a ''top MMA'' fight is still mostly sloppy punching, kicking and rolling around on the mat.
Not for me but it obviously has it's crowd.
Ok lol :dunno:
That fight that OP is talking about was between two former world class kickboxers who switched to MMA. And in that same division as a possible future title challenger theres Bo Nickal who was a world class wrestler. Then in the co-main of the card there was Gilbert Burns who is an elite jiu jitsu guy.
Its absolutely skilled. Its just never going to look very "clean" or pretty or refined because its such a chaotic ruleset with so much going on.
Eh, its partly boxing weeding out bad chins but its at least as much to do with the smaller gloves, no counts and how much harder it is to defend in MMA.
Dunno if its even that. Kickboxing and bare knuckle probably have the highest ratio of action packed fights and they're relatively limited. I still think a great boxing match is often better than a great MMA fight too, although MMA tends to be entertaining more consistently.

The kicking and rolling around on the mat is a huge turn off.
And it's not even done skillfully.

Those guys can't take a single punch without seeing tweety birds.

'More'' ''action'' due to the fact almost everything is allowed.

You're confusing aesthetics with skill. Isnt the precise reason that MMA fighters would be favoured over boxers in most arenas be that they quite literally have more fighting skills?
TBF, I haven't seen many MMA fights.

If a boxer is taught how to kick, it's over.
Most fights end with a punch to the head anyway or at least the end is near as soon as a solid punch lands.
MMA/UFC is overrated

Going on like the UFC is great lmao half of it is female fighters who i don't give a shit about the other half mediocre fighter matchups most the time. I watched that card Saturday and it was shit other than the main fight that Masdival/Burns fight was just 2 men hugging for 15 minutes.
But if a person had to pick one over the other
I'd go with the one with more skill on display (HW div not included :) ).

In UFC, you tune into a PPV EXPECTING it to be good. If it's bad, boring, and uncompetitive... it's a shock. And that really just pertains to the main event, theres always at least a few excellent fights on any given card, if not 3-4.
In Boxing, you tune in EXPECTING the card to be bad. EXPECTING a PPV main card to be four completely uncompetitive showcase fights. And when one or two of the fights turns out to be decent, everyone is like "WOAH FIGHT OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE GLAD I TUNED IN".... it comes as a shock when the card is not terrible.
Higher standards :dunno:
If boxing included kicking :lol1:......
MMA/UFC will always be the Michael Bay/Uwe Boll of movie directors
Sure there may be more non stop ''action''
The only thing not allowed is biting :lol1:
There's room for both.

Begrudgingly I am starting to notice this as well. I only one other "hardcore" boxing fam. Everyone else watches UFC, and as much as I've defended boxing over the past decade, the UFC is just more exciting due to match making. Someone said this earlier in the thread, but this year we've already seen Adesanya fight twice.... we still can't get crawford-spence. Yes, we have a few good fights coming, but it's not enough to compete with the UFC.
I don't have a problem with boxing being a more niche sport, but it's kinda sad to watch how this all happened over the last 20 years.

Usyk-Fury and Spence-Crawford must be done THIS YEAR. The expired Floyd-Manny was made way too late and boxing missed out on the biggest "who is the best" fight of the decade. That hurts true boxing fans
I more or less switched over to UFC in 2022 after 15 years of refusing to watch it.
The reason is quality. Guys at the gym every single week talking about awesome fights. I started giving it a try, and I'll say this:
the UFC EARLY prelims, the free fights before the prelims at like 1pm, are better and more competitive than any boxing PPV main card.
Boxing is a joke now. That's all there is to it.
As sad as I feel about admitting it, that is true. UFC has been delivering way more quality content that boxing
There's only one thing to me more boring than Boxing is dead threads.......... watching MMA.

Gen Pop have no loyalty, they go to whatever is trending.
Sounds like some kind of "chin free zone" fights. UFC fans are only interested in stoppages. Any distance fights are ones that have no action. Thats why when UFC fighters come to boxing they dont succeed. Boxing requires skill...not just raw aggression.
imagine where pillows on your fists and acting like it's superior
