Apparently 49k TV buys, and people on Twitter suggesting it's about a 2:1 ratio, so let's say 150k (assuming it's true). That's actually not horrific considering the current climate, but obviously nowhere near good.
I'm not from the US, but it seemed like there was a good build-up for this (I bought it here in the UK for £12.99), so is that a surprising figure for those of you that are in the States?
Would not doubt that it hit the 250-300k range. At least here in San Diego casuals and hardcore fans were looking forward to the fight. Most people did go to a bar or restaurant to watch the fight but regardless it did gain a good amount of traction for a boxing match
Would be great if true, but then we're not likely to get any numbers from reliable sources. David has always been popular (not that popular but still).
It's also worth to note that it's not all David. Plant had a good fight vs. Canelo. He had excellent exposure, and is a marketable fighter himself.
The best thing to do with ball park figures like this is knock off 100k right off the bat. That puts the PPV numbers at around 650,000. Clearly a number Canelo and team can not ignore. If they do then it's a blatant duck no ifs ands or buts about it.
Periods are important, for women and for numbers. It's more likely 75.0 K buys
If it's anywhere nearly 750k, benavidez just became a cash cow and won't have problems getting any fights.
I HIGHLY doubt this number. Imo Who Canelo fights next will tell me if I am wrong and this number is accurate.
No way Canelo passes on a Benavidez fight if he can sell that much with Caleb.
The guy he is sourcing is a well known Twitter prankster Ray Jackson. He makes things up all the times for laughs, but unfortunately some people believe it's real and run with it.
Its feasible, that fight had a great build-up and the arena was packed to the rafters, I would not be surprised if it was close to that mark.

If this is true then David is on his way to becoming a bona-fide superstar.

As Ive always said the fights people want to see will draw well, one only had to look at the arena crowd to know its going to do well PPV.
Tank Garcia will be in the same ballpark.
I see the anti-pbc folks are out in full force Lmbao...
Oh but if it was Rick Glaser's numbers it'd be 100 percent truth right???
Congrats to Benavidez, Plant and every single fighter on the card. It was a great night of fights so the 750k buys don't surprise me one bit.
Nah, both Rick and Ray are known to be full of shit.
What is the actual deal with Rick Glaser?
Is he legit involved in the sport?
Glaser worked for King for years and also does independent matchmaking and consulting, etc. He's not a bad guy.......
