So upon hearing that Guillermo coming back to fight got me thinking a couple things:
Age
Performance against Casimero (sour taste in my mouth, horseplay was not what Rigo should have done)
and
His loss in his last fight (against an opponent no one knew who was expected to lose especially against someone as skilled as Rigo)
I kind of wonder if he is just coming back for a quick paycheck. Or is he REALLY going to come back and fight for the top?
Are you excited? Anticipating something big from Rigo?
Your thoughts.
Rigo's career has been on life support ever since he quit against Loma
a ¨no mas¨ in the biggest fight of his life? a fight where he wasn't even getting hurt btw
unless you have a serious injury, quitting is the ultimate sin in boxing
Vitali quit because he had a torn rotator cuff
Billy Joe Saunders had a broken orbital
Victor Ortiz a broken jaw
but Rigo? he quit just because he was getting frustrated :pat:
Very well said and I definitely agree.
Plus, he should have understood the magnitude of the challenge moving up in weight to fight Loma.
But yeah, all around since that loss he hasn't been the same really.

Rigo quit because Loma was going to knock his ass out.
Even in his (professional) prime he was kinda old. Now he's ancient. Shame really, he just didn't have the style to entice the big names back when he still had it. Had a few more Donaire performances left in him we never got to see.
With all those skills that he had he was boring to watch. Even if he goes to trade his chin is weak and gets visibly hurt. They tried to make him into a star but it never caught on. Quitting against Loma didn't help his cause either.

I saw a recent promo video of Rigo and his trainer on Facebook a few days ago. Guillermo appeared fine.
Oh ok cool
I wonder if he will perform well come fight night.

Nope, far past his prime.
