Watched the Beterbiev-Gvozdyk fight again more carefully and I realize Beterbiev is a very dangerous opponent for Bivol.
Bivol may seem like the superior boxer on paper but Beterbiev will often take 2-3 punches just to land 1, and whenever he lands it hurts his opponents. He also throws his right hand from some very weird unorthodox angles and times it extremely well.
Gvozdyk put Adonis Stevenson in a coma but Beterbiev ate his punches like candy and beat his ass down. Granted Gvozdyk doesn't have Bivol's composure and defense but still.

Beterbiev is better than he looks. I'm on the fence when it comes to him vs Bivol.
Hard to compare though, Bivol is a very different fighter.
Beterbiev is approaching late 30’s too. We’ve seen time and time again that a younger fighter with a speed advantage and good skills can make fighters start to look their age.
All the Russians know how good Bivol is. That’s why Beterbiev has never been screaming for that fight and left DAZN as soon as Bivol joined. Just like Kovalev was always talking down the idea of fighting an up and coming Bivol. They know he’s one of the very best technicians of this era. The Mexicans have been finding out what the Russians have known for a while.
For me its a 50-50 if they fight in the next 6-12 months. After that, the longer it takes, the more I favour Bivol
Jean Pascal knocked Browne down 3 times and was about to finish Browne against the ropes when Brown headbutted on purpose out of desperation. watch the fight.
I did watch the fight. 2KD’s fight stopped due to cuts. TD.
in trying to cover for your mistakes you’re wrong again.
That how Bivol has fought in his last two fights, no?
Trading here and there on his terms as his confidence rises from picking apart the opponent
Boxing boring doesn’t bother Bivol like it does some fans
Beter is slow and hittable. It would be long night for him
Bivol rarely "trades" ... He attacks when you're standing still or counters in a flurry... You will never see him plant his feet and exchange hard shots... He won't "take one to throw one" as Artur does...
Fascinating fight between 2 highly different and skillful styles ...
No. Marcus Browne who lost a TD to Jean Pascal. You’re both emotional in every thread AND wrong

Marcus Browne that got knocked out by Jean Pascal?

where did i say skill, billy? I said athleticism. Bivol does not move any faster than brown, doesn't jump any higher than browne, and doesn't run around the ring any faster. Comprehension.

lmfao
Beterbiev was beating and hurting current heavyweights like Usyk and Hunter in the amateurs. He is very underrated as a boxer. This will be a grueling fight for Bivol.

I will tell you tight now what will happen and I am a fan of both.
Bivol starts winning a few rounds and then folds to Artur and looses.
Wow I cannot believe some of the bullchit being written here by some who had my respect on this platform
You mofo’s better all be around when Beterbiev is declared the winner
Some of you fughs don’t have a fughin clue who Beterbiev is a s a person or a fighter
Age won’t be a factor
The man is as clean as you can get , no dope ,no booze , no partying just a dedicated man to his family
Last but not least , he’s an extreme gym rat , never out of shape or overweight
Watch him cut the ring and show his boxing skills until it’s light out
I hope you all back to give him his dues
The thing with Bivol is that he manages his distance well. Like Andre Ward he knows the exact distance to be at to limit the effectiveness of his opponents offense. He might get clipped, but I think his chin can recover and go on to win a UD.
I can't remember the last time we were presented with a more intriguing matchup. Of course Beterbiev, with a 100% KO record, is very dangerous, that goes without saying. I cannot pick a winner between the 2. I'm a big fan of the both of them. I only hope age hasn't...or will not have, caught up with Beterbiev by then. He could be close to 39 years old by the time it happens.
No doubt, Beterbiev is dangerous and Bivol will have his hands full. BUT, Dmitrii won't just stand there in front of Artur trading with him like Gvozdyk did. And if they fight next year, Bivol will be 31 and Beterbiev will be 38. That may make a difference.
Give the edge to Bivol here. He has the speed, stamina, defense and footwork to give Artur fits for all 12 rounds. Don’t get me wrong, while Artur not only has terrifying power, relentlessness and great technique…I don’t think he’ll be able to consistently land on Bivol
Beter has too many holes for Bivol to pick apart
Beter has a puncher’s chance, but it isn’t I only need to be perfect for 2-seconds Deontay Wilder power
Thinking of Beterbiev as a one trick poney ? Really ? OK ...
Bivol will stay at distance for as long as he can until he has to "score" just enough points...
That could pretty well be a very boring fight avoiding the 2 bombs Beterbiev has instead of hands if you ask me ...
But if Bivol thinks of trading, then we're up for fireworks and a finish "à-la-Gvozdyk"....
Oh...and Beterbiev is also a master in his own style...
These two have closed down the division. Other contenders have zero or very little chance in the fight.
It is even much more obvious than the situation at 147. I would actually give Ortiz jr. and Ennis a chance to beat Spence and Crawford.
The cards were really strange. One had Beterbiev well in front, the other Gvodzyk well in front, the third had it close.
I had it similar to you.
Yeah, I thought they were a bit off at the time, and whilst close and very competitive, I felt that Beterbiev had to be at least narrowly ahead, if not more. Cash in
