People is overrating Haney too much.
Champions get respect when they do something special.
Yeah, he has all the belts, but only he beat Kambosssos, and with all the respect, this guy is a very very beatable guy to most of the top-10 in the division, he is a very pretty average champion.
The point is.
Jojo Díaz was able to land 140 punches vs Haneu
Haney.
Haney 164.
That was a clear win to Haney but he is not that hard to punch.
Díaz is another B clases fighter that was totally outboxed and outworked against Zepeda.
Lomachenko is old? Yes. And?
Still being better fighter than Díaz, Kambosssos, etc.
He is faster than Díaz, smarter than Loma.
Haney is a very good fighter too but it s not the monster that people is creating.
He is not the 30% of what Floyd was.
The guy has a very good jab, proved jab? Yes, proved against B clases fighters without the skills of Loma.
Haney is too básic for a guy like Loma.
He repeat the same movements, 1-2, most of the times.
Loma will school this guy.
The blueprint to beat Loma is not what Haney has.
There are two ways to beat Loma.
1. Being a great pressure fighter with good chin, awkward style, body punches and a great workrate like Salido. Actually Cruz has a similar style, but more compact than Salido.
2. Being a Big, taller, excelente counterpuncher with Big power like Teofimo, explosive style with power in both hands, that Ortiz guy has a little of this.
Lomachenko is very familiar with the style of Haney, he beat that style for years in amateurs.
Haney pillow hands and style is not enough to beat Loma.
I am suspicious these guys lie down for the money. Remember Lomachenko has the same manager as Kovalev, and remember Canelo vs Kovalev fake fight. Just saying. You can't be confident picking anyone anymore. It's better not to bet at all.
Also Lomachenko further proves he is a fraud by the fact someone Tank Davis stopped at 130 pounds is willing to go to 140 to fight Teofimo, but Lomachenko wont go up 5 little pounds to avenge his loss. Lomachenko even dealt easily with Pedraza at 135, supposedly still with a so so shoulder, so if Pedraza can fight at 140 you'd think Loma would too. But instead he is losing 5 rounds to uncoordinated 16-0 prospects with Paulie Malinaggi featherfisted KO percentages, only 8 KOs in 16 prospect fights even though he has been fighting nobody. Lomachenko just stood there and did nothing most of the fight. It didnt even look real, so I come back to the fact he is managed by the same manager as Kovalev is. Bettors beware.
All I can say is, "keep that same energy", as the kids say. If Haney beats him 9-3 like I expect, let's not pull a 180 and start saying Loma is too small, Haney hugged him etc.... Just give him full credit.
I definitely give Loma a shot in this fight but Haney’s speed, size and length will make it very difficult for Loma like Teo and Ortiz.
Not a foregone conclusion but I’m leaning towards Haney to win a close decision.
Some have him the best in the division because he has all the belts. He has beaten Kambosos.
He has an excellent jab but no power and no inside game i do not think that makes him the best in the division nor does it bode well for him at 140 or 147.
Overrated is a weird term. Certainly everyone doesn't overrate him but some I think do.
Man, and people.
Jojo Díaz was able to land 140 punches in Haney
Haney landed 160 vs Díaz.
Imagine what Loma will do, being better in all senses than Díaz.
Díaz landed 140 punches, Díaz is a lefty too.
Thats a red flag.
I mean, Bam Rodríguez beat way better champs like Cuadras and Sor Rungvisai and has less hype.
Its because he fights at Flyweight IMHO Bam is the fighter of the year , no love for the little guys fckn shame because that division is on absolute fire .........
If Loma can deliver that slick left hand that he throws that is short with good timing while able to hurt Haney he has a chance. Speed bothers Loma and I don't see him sustaining an attack like he did in the past. He should drop down but there are no big names at 130
I don't care who wins. The important thing is it's not a fantasy fight. It will happen.
So you better be ready to be man enough to give credit where credit is due, to the winner.
Haney is teo and Ortiz combined . He probably don't hit as hard but that still doesn't mean he won't feel anything.lomq has the skills and experience vs Haney's speed and size. If loma is gonna be gunshy then it ain't gonna happen but if he goes guns blazing it will.
The size, age and style match up favors Haney. I think Loma will be the more aggressive and active of the two, but Haney is a solid counter puncher who knows how to control the distance. Yes he gets hit, but Loma's power may not be as effective against Haney who is considerably bigger at Lightweight. I think it will be a close fight, but Loma's path to victory will mean he has to fight a perfect fight, outland Haney and make him miss. At 34 the clock is ticking. If he wants to fulfill his dream of becoming undisputed he would have a much better chance at 130.
How is Haney overrated?
Some have him the best in the division because he has all the belts. He has beaten Kambosos.
He has an excellent jab but no power and no inside game i do not think that makes him the best in the division nor does it bode well for him at 140 or 147.

Where? All the guys at 135 avoided him. Not because he hits hard, but because hes fast, long arms, athletic, and can use those attributes to box and move to a win.
Dude, you cant just mention his resume without being honest about the above. Loma, Teo, Ryan and Tank want none if this dude. At least Kambosos stepped up.
Bam has a better resume because those dudes werent afraid to fight him. ( Bam is also a f-cking great fighter lets be clear).
I don't know if the others guys ducked him, I dont care about stories because all the actual boxing works like this.
I'm talking about what fans say about him vs the other top fighters in 135-140.
At the moment his resume is pretty average and never was tested against a real elite fighter. If that its because he was ducked, ok, but it does not matter, he lacks of experience against great fighters.
I mean, Isaac Cruz can, perfectly, beat Díaz, Kambosssos and a shot Linares.
My point is, what Haney did, is not really hard or special for most of the other top fighters in the division
I think his style is perfect to Loma, Loma likes this kind of style.
