It has hurt his credibility, but tbh the biggest problem is that him leaving Sky was stupid, and his stable has gotten weaker in recent years. It was because of those reasons that he went to such lengths to defend Benn. A limited prospect trading on his dad's name wouldn't have been as important to him back when undefeated AJ was doing big numbers, or when he was boasting about his '$1B war chest to take over America', but things change and now he needs all the attractions he can get. Eddie’s ego fooled him into believing he made Sky when in reality Sky made him. I was very surprised he left, the Hearn’s have a long-standing successful relationship with Sky not just with Boxing but with Darts, Snooker, Pool and other sports they promote. Maybe the money was too good to refuse but the move to DAZN has completely exposed him. Hearn is a charlatan, he doesn’t really know Boxing, I mean look at the first big fight he got behind: Haye vs Harrison- a complete disaster. He doesn’t have that ability to build fighters like a Frank Warren or a Bob Arum but with a platform like Sky behind you, you can mask that. You can sign ready built stars like Froch, Groves, DeGale, Bellew, Cleverly, Chisora, Brook etc. You don’t have that same privilege at DAZN.

He is no different than any top promoter. They are only faithful to money and shamelessly will say anything. They have the slick tongue and now how to deliver the lies. Unfortunately promoters is a necessary evil.

Sorry but I had to laugh it this. Hearn is just as much a greedy scumbag as any other promoter. Why it takes something like this to get posters to admit it is kinda funny. He had a much more loyal fanbase though. I’ve never seen a promoter develop that sort of cult following. He could honestly do no wrong in a lot of their eyes. This Benn fiasco seems to have finally opened a lot of their eyes though.
