The Fox and PBC deal is only good for a few more months. It looks likely Fox will be ending the deal and not renewing. Fox has not really invested in boxing. I understand that PBC has been putting a lot of stuff on Pay Per View now because Fox will no longer cover expenses.
Showtime is still in boxing for now although I have long speculated they would leave as they don't get much ratings from it and it takes a lot of budget that they can otherwise get a better ROI on, like TV shows.
So 2 questions:
1. What happens if Fox ends the deal? PBC has lots of fighters and a lack of dates.
2. What if BOTH Fox and Showtime leave boxing in the next year? I doubt other TV channels will come in with big bucks to make a deal with PBC. Everyone has been leaving boxing or is close to the way out. HBO got out, Fox will probably leave, DAZN has been losing money hand over fist, what happens in this scenario? PBC has way too many fighters that are overpaid and a lack of dates.
They're all approaching one-fight-a-year status. It's a business bro.
I don't know what kind of business it is letting their employees take year-long vacations.

That's not exactly true.
The FOX deal is already over, technically.
They are doing PPV events because they owe a certain amount of PPVs per year to FOX as part of their multi-year deal - and for whatever reason FOX is demanding PBC makes good on the PPVs they are contractually owed. Don't be surprised if Spence-Crawford lands on FOX.
I doubt Showtime leaves boxing.
Paramount+ - the parent company of SHO - wants live sports. There is talk of boxing and Bellator (owned by Paramount) having events that are exclusive only to Paramount+.
FOX leaving gives SHO a big edge to pressure Haymon to offer them better fights.
Also, Amazon is also looking to add more live sports and they are interested in boxing. The recently added MMA company ONE for more live sports content.
Honestly if PBC goes under it might be good. The industry needs consolidation. There are wayyyy to many promoters and networks.
Also, an APP like DAZN will never work. Most people dont get that app so they cant discover new fighters. Its not like flipping through the tv channels. Streaming apps make it hard to find new content. You typically watch what you search for. There is no flipping channels.
While you have a point about not delivering the best fights, you’re off base about PBC not working with other stables. They’ve worked many times with both Top Rank and DAZN. I literally can’t think of even once that Top Rank and DAZN worked together. Can you?
Only one off the top of my head was when Maurice Hooker (who was DAZN, can't recall if it was GBP or Matchroom) fought Jose Ramirez (Top Rank).
I'm not sure what your argument here is - no promoter in boxing has as extensive a track record for getting his fighters paid and taken care of, usually utterly overpaid, like Haymon does.
His notable fighters fight one time a year, often easy fights, and are overpaid to do so. What a terrible setup for the fighters.
That was when they had the coffers of that Raddle n Reed investment, those days are long gone. PBC is up shiet creek without paddle if they can't land another deal with the size of thier stable. Thier fighters aren't fighting once a year because they choose so,lets not kid ourselves. They're fighting once a year because FOX isnt willing to cover the tab and Showtime's boxing budget simply cannot keep that stable afloat alone. Look at Wilders gauranteed purse for Helenius and no,there's no longer those Haymon "back alley checks". Most every PBC fight is now thrown on ppv because of necessity, period.
yeah they move from CBS get booted, NBC get booted, FOX, get booted, bounce TV remember that gone,HBO, gone.
since when is not talking to the media a good trait for a promoter?
No promoter throughout history has talked to the media more than Don King. Where’s he at?
If they would’ve worked with other stables PBC would be ok. Cant really blame Fox if this is true because Al didn’t deliver the best fights but he had some good ones. Overpaying the boxers wasn’t smart for the long run

as long as mayweather is around and is tied with pbc, they'llg et networks backing them. if not any network in the US, they could get international deals with networks like Bein sports.
People were writing PBC's obituary years ago. Then they announced a massive deal.
Same thing will happen this time - say what you want about Haymon, but he spends his time making moves instead of running his mouth to reporters.

regardless he has an inventory of fighters who are literally fighting 1 time per year. didn't a father-son combo just say it was a 360 with no guarantees and giving Haymon 100% of your intellectual rights?

Don't know how they're going to accommodate all these fighters sitting on the sidelines for so many months now. Fighters whose next fights are way overdue; Ennis, Charlo, Stanionis, Crowley, Thurman, Santa Cruz, etc. Can't even remember these guys' last fights.. One network is not enough.

PBC's contract with Fox is almost over. What happens next?
Fans no longer see any relevance to this question. They only get to watch what is fed to them anyways. Fighters and promoters are getting greedier and greedier. I don't see any platform or network staying longer in this full-blown business. They may stay but I don't see them making decent number of fights on a regular basis.
PBC no platform 200 plus fighter while DAZN 4.2 billion over budget and needs content. DAZN would be stupid to go in business with him but it would logic to buy his fighters for X amount of guaranteed cards with 51/49 veto power. This is important bc Haymon will line up BS fights. They were just stuck in a situation with GGG and his equity, not wanting to fight anymore.
No never. They make way more money on TV shows. The roi on boxing sucked for them
It's a shame. Their production and 24/7 shows were top notch. I thought PBC might lure them back in but seems not.
