Haney vs stevenson might be the match that takes place after all of the dust settles at 135 ibs if devin doesn't move up to 140 ibs. I don't see any other guys beating them. As for the match-up, I would lean towards shakur, but devin is also very skilled and has a great jab and a size advantage. It would be a very close chess match.
I guess you can say Conditioning Now, Haney works really hard and is always in PHENOMENAL Shape

That's an excellent point!! I think Haney is more disciplined and has a better work ethic than Shakur. When I saw the Top Rank promo, the first thing I saw was Shakur driving and eating a cookie or something from Starbucks. I heard he was eating cookies during camp and stuff. And then he can't make weight? lol No body is buying that BS. You'll never see Haney miss weight. Won't happen.
Haney is a true professional, more so than Shakur, and that's always going to be an advantage IMO.
Not sure if I remember seeing Shakur Stevenson getting outpointed, but you could tell his expression was of someone frustrated that his opponent was landing constant clean shots until he switched strategies of targeting the nut sack.

You could tell Robson was becoming stationary, slower and less precise throughout the later rounds without putting much power behind his shots.
Also yeah, the commentary was meat riding Stevenson, hypocritical considering that they tear down and ruin any other fighter that has done the same actions. He wasn't disciplined enough to cut down a pound and a half while he committed the same fouls repeatedly. Yet they commend him as P4P?
LOL Yeah. Shakur's face said everything. He was getting outlanded the first three rounds. Robson was making him miss and was able to counter him. I can't go off compubox because that organization is a joke. They are either corrupt or just have simping fanboys working there. They had Robson with only 4 landed body punches or some garbage like that. That sounds like something more than incompetence to me.
Fights get harder the higher up in weight one moves, not easier. I've never seen fights get easier when fighting bigger guys. People are saying that he should ditch his grandfather as a trainer. I don't know if that's going to happen. I don't think it will much like Lopez won't get rid of his father. But what I do know is that this kid is going to start looking even worse from here on out.
Lol Yea! I sure am. I had my criticism of Shakur already. But that fight was eye opening for me. Shakur was getting outboxed in the beginning of the fight. Everything changed when he stopped boxing and walked Robson down. He pulled a Salido on Robson, just started pounding that guy's nut sack. Then when Robson's legs start to go from all the low blows, he body slams him. After that, he has the audacity to complain about clinching. Really, Robson should have won this fight. Shakur should have been DQ'd. I mean he has a point deduction for the body toss, and then he does it again but just gets a warning. lmao
When I saw Robson landing, I saw what he was doing. Shakur couldn't play his timing game with Robson. Robson was disrupting his rhythm, never letting him get going and did a fantastic job. Shakur had no answer except cheating. Something I've seen him do again and again.
The scary thing is that everyone was onboard with the fouls. The commentators. The ref. The judges. Everybody was cool with this. It was unbelievable. And Andre Ward ... man, that guy has to go. I used to like him but the man has no integrity. I heard that Andre Wards breath smells like Shakur's ass.

Are you saying this because he came above the weight limit, threw three Yudo throws and landed 68 low blows?

To be honest, I know I criticize Haney for ducking and hugging, but to be fair, he's done that in two fights. The first was Linares because he was seriously hurt. And then he did it all fight with Kambosos. But he didn't fight that way with JoJo or Gamboa or all his other fights. Will, he still dips too low ... Anyway, Shakur is a very dirty fighter. VERY DIRTY. Is that Andre Ward's influence? I think it might be.
I'll tell you what Devin does better than Shakur. He's lighter on his feet and he has a better jab. He also has the reach advantage. If you have a good jab, you can ruin Shakur's night.
Also, Haney has better head movement. I saw improvements in the Kambosos fight. He did improve and was able to remain off the line or positions where Kambosos couldn't counter (when Devin wasn't hugging). Shakur just has that lean back, and he makes guys miss by a fraction. The problem with just being out of range is that he's going to meet a guy where that **** won't work. Robson was such a guy because he easily won the first three rounds by outboxing Haney, using variations of the one-two and timing Shakur. Haney can do that.
Shakur is a very linear fighter but Haney's been working on taking angles lately as well.
Right now, I'm picking Devin to beat Shakur. It's a close fight, but I give the edge to Haney.
So far I saw Shakur step on Nakathilia's feet all night long. Repeatedly. And in that fight too, Ward was going on as if couldn't understand why the referee was on his case. Then when he fought Valdez, he was measuring him all the time. Intentionally. He had the reach advantage, so he thought he'd just measure to prevent Valdez from being able to close the distance. Cheap. Then we saw him low blow and body slam Robson all night long.
Remember this comment: Shakur is a hype job and is about to be exposed at 135.

Haney has arguably the best jab in the business, and size and physical strength.
Not saying he doesn't have a pretty good jab but I don't think even Haney's own mother would argue it's the best in boxing.
Completely disagree about Haney having better offense
Well to be fair though, I just picked that up in his highlights there is about Haney, he seemed to be willing to fight in the pocket forgetting that these are just clips. Then I watched the DAZN highlights in which Haney Clinched Linares 6 times within 2 rounds.
Also, I didn't know JoJo Diaz of all people hurt him with a body shot within the fourth round, it let him land three jabs and threw Haney into the ground.

Devin Haney has a better offense since Shakur Stevenson mostly tends to counterattack unless he feels like his opponent is too unactive, however Haney is as feather fisted as a granny with cooking mittens. Shakur at least hurts his opponents despite not being able to finish them off.

His clinching is top notch. Best in the business.
The guy jabs 2-3 times, then ties up.
Arum don’t want none. He knows Shakur will have no answer for the holding. Did you see his frustration vs Conceicao’s clinching?
