David Benavidez Has NO Belt, Is NOT A Draw/Payday, And Has No Meaningful Wins. Why Should Canelo Fight Him?

Well, as a fan, I think it would be a real fun fight to watch. An opponent for Canelo that has a pulse. Not even Bivol style because Bivol was just too big and it was too one sided. I mean someone more evenly matched to Canelo that has that fire in him.

Seriously. I know yall hate Canelo on here but just being MATURE AND REALISTIC...what would David Benavidez offer Canelo? Canelo is at the Mayweather/Pacqiuao point of his career. Benavidez best win have been past prime Anthony Dirrell and super past prime Lumieux. Why are people acting like he is some type of big deal or something? He's just another name in a list of names of people who want that Canelo payday with others being more deserving. Who has Benavidez beat to make his fat azz say Canelo is ducking him? - - Maybe if Bena just KTSO U, everything would sort out for him.

Benavidez would have a claim if he didn’t lose his title on the scales. His unprofessionalism is his own doing. He’s young so he should have no problems cutting the weight. Now he’s forced to beg and try and talk his way to a Canelo payday instead of making himself the next guy by having a title Canelo wanted.

When did this phenomenon of fans of fighters not wanting their fighter to fight the best possible opponent, going as far as to campaign for why the other fighter doesn't deserve the honor. It couldn't have always been this way. You guys are way too invested in this. Bivol is better than any 168 fighter. Better fighter and better win. But I think he’s too good and too big for Canelo. Canelo should fight those whack fighters at 168.

The Benavidez fight is the most lucrative by far. Mexican-American fighter with actual name recognition. Easily the most sensible fight and more winnable than Bivol or Beterbiev.

This is why boxing is in shambles. People defending their fighters to take lesser challenges and giving us crap fights. Benavidez/canelo is an interesting fight, but leave it up to fans to question benavidez's draw when canelo fought complete bums like rocky fielding and avni yildirim. :sucks: I want to see Canelo in big fights. I even want to see him fight Benavidez. You're missing the point. The point is that Benavidez is saying Canelo is ducking him as if he's really in position to demand Canelo fight him based on nothing other than bring hyped. His best win was Dirrell. As much as I knew Mayweather wasn't ducking Pacquiao, Pacquiao fans saying he was ducking him was.an acceptable argument because Pacquiaos run. Benavidez fans cannot say the same. That's it that's all.

Canelo has all the 168 belts and Benavides is the hardest challenger in that division at this moment. Canelo will be out for at least 8 months, possibly more. Coming back he probably will fight Ryder as a tune up and the easy UK money. Other than Canelo going back up to 175 or Charlo coming up in weight to fight him there is really no attractive fights at 168 other than Benavides or Charlo.

Canelo should fight the best and should take the biggest risks, BUT why haven't these guys fought each other instead of just waiting on canelo to pick them? Charlo, andrade, benavidez should fight each other instead of wasting time. Didn't andrade just drop his belt and moved up in weight, he can fight benavidez first. Charlo should fight GGG at 160, I imagine he will have more interest in fighting him now... Canelo will fight one time a year from now on, if you are a fighter in your prime I would suggest you continue fighting without him.

The only fights left for Canelo at this point are Andrade, Benavidez, Charlo, Bivol , Zurdo or Beterbiev. It's sad but true

Even a washed up Kovalev gave Canelo problems yet he still wants to chase greatness. At this stage thats what its about. Benavidez has beat nobody. When Benavidez finally gets hit back he will fold. Has he not already had a draw in his career vs that guy that trains out of the Mayweather gym? The only intriguing fights for Canelo right now are Charlo and Benavidez. Fans are asking for those for a reason. I can't stand fan bases who DON'T want their fighter to fight. Like the Benavidez fanbase who doesn't want him to fight anyone worth a damn and would rather see him sit out for a year and a half until the Canelo lotto ticket? I guarantee you, if Canelo does sit out until September 2023, Benavidez will sit on his ass and maybe fight some bum next summer in the hopes Canelo calls his name.

It seems to be the fight most people want for Canelo next. The Mexican angle will mean it does good numbers plus Benavidez is an interesting challenge because hes probably just hitting his prime and hes got the kind of speed and range that could give Canelo trouble. I find something like a Bivol rematch much less compelling because based on the first fight Canelo has no fucking chance and it'll just play out the same way.

WBC Mandatory, the bigger question is will the WBC/Suiliman actually order it and run the risk of being shunned and shut out by Canelo again and miss out on 3% of his Huge Purses just to please Benavidez...Yeah I Doubt It! Either another Franchise Title for Canelo OR they give Benavidez the Run Around So Benavidez is #1 WBC, Morrell holds that other WBA Belt that could be Ordered and a Lesser Known but very Skilled and Awkward Cuban Will Scull is the IBF #1 and of course Andrade vs Parker will be for the WBO Mandatory. So yeah, he won't have choice, he will have to start defending those Belts or start Dropping them 1 by 1 like Josh Taylor recently People will say "What Does Benavidez Bring To The Table" but then if he was to announce that he is fighting Ryder in the UK, some of you would be the same people defending it so you come off as Hypocritical Groupies just deflect and wanting to keep your Man Crush fighter away from any potential Threat. This is not what Boxing is about, NO SPORT does this beside Boxing.
