After watching the embarrasing mental breakdown of mental midget Joshua after the Usyk rematch, it got me thinking..
what fighters have been the exact opposite?
Fighters who never lose their composure, nor in the middle of a fight if things aren't going their way, or in a post fight interview if they lose
Fighters who can be broken physically, but never mentally
who can't be rattled in trash talks, won't lose focus despite bad external circumstances, etc
I think Vitali Klitschko was a good example of this. Such a cold, calculated, fearless fighter, who was all business during all kind of strain.
You could throw this man in a tank full of killer sharks, and his facial expression wouldn't change as he tries to find an exit
Any other good examples of anti-Joshua fighters?
I apologize for that. I Misunderstood you but now I understand what are you saying. Yes, Money May definitely had tunnel vision in the ring. He was always zoned in.
It’s cool bro. In the original poster’s post he asked 2 different questions.
You were right as well!
I wasn’t talking about being gracious. IIRC the question was about “nerves of steel”, which to me means not losing focus when things aren’t going 100% according to plan.
The fact that Floyd never lost further illustrates my point because he definitely had some moments in fights where a less focused fighter could have very easily lost their cool and been defeated. (Castillo 1, Corley, Judah, Mosley, Chino)

It was very easy for him to remain gracious. He has never lost in the ring before. I would say Muhammad Ali. Every time he lost, he was always a humbled and gracious loser. He never blamed anyone but himself for his defeats.

Theirs thousands of them. Their the ones that usually have no power. Their ACCUSTOMED to being hit. Their slow, unathletic and not too bright.
I would have included Canelo here before the fight with Bivol
but he clearly let the frustation get the better out of him in that fight
still a mentally tough guy ofc, but not God tier tough
He can be a mental headcase outside of the ring at times
He clearly knows how to stay calm during pressure inside the ring, but not so much outside
which can affect your training, health or make you to take stupid decissions
I think an opponent with brash personality and wit could push his buttons in the pressers if he wanted, it's just he's never faced anyone like that
just people with no personality, or too dumb like Wilder

As long as you don't mention his lord and master, I mean, wife....
Good response. I asked you that question, because I had a preemptive reply which I would of thrown your way 'But there seems no need for any of that, because you evaluation of Tyson Fury was honest' I would of come at you differently otherwise.
Miguel Cotto before his lost to Antonio Margarito was cyborg like. When he fought Zab Judah, I can remember when he suffered a really bad cut 'Maybe it was inside his mouth'.
There was blood running, and he was just cold 'Hugging Judah at the end of one of the exchanges'.
But after his loss to Margarito, there was always a point in the fight. Were you could detect, his trauma 'He was no longer cyborg like'.
There are plenty of game fighters who are very overt and erratic. So I don't really value and rate these fighters with a cold demeanor any higher.
Deontay Wilder's gameness and determination can rival Vitali Kilschko.

What is your opinion on Tyson Fury, would you mention him in this thread?

I would have to say SRL and also Arturo Gatti, honorable mention for Ward also. Those men stood and ate their humble pie, regardless of the outcome. Gatti did start to lose it towards the end. Another honorable mention goes to Johnny Tapia!
SRL allowed Duran to rattle him in the pressers and that made him lose focus and fight overly aggresive in their first clash, didn't he?
