I hate when I have to agree with characters that I do not favor, in boxing, in life... But when you are right, you are right... Eddie is correct and people need to give AJ a break IMO. He was really trying to win, he had some nice body work and was encouraged... in his mind it slipped away and it is maddening. I don't think AJ is a killer, but I do think he has the mindset of an athlete that needs to win.
He lost it and he was wrong. Does not make him crazy, unstable, etc. It makes him childish and very driven... Usyk was not insulted and of anyone he is the one with the right to be insulted.
AJ showed talent and while the fight itself was round 13, AJ did show some nice chops with the body work... He has a few and while not at the apex of the division, he could have some decent scraps.
hes got a good future as a ring announcer, that was pretty powerful, did AJ think usyk was trying to take the mike & said aggressively, look look im talking LMAO, he only wants his flag AJ
He's a mental midget who had a mental breakdown, and embarrased himself in front of the world.
He's the Will Smith of boxing right now, and as such, he deserves to be mocked
Thats my point 'emotions affect us all differently'
We are beautifully unique and react differently
Our boiling points aren't all set at 100 degrees.
What might get a smile at of one person gets a slap from another etc
That’s all well and good but when you act like a classless pr*** in the public eye be prepared to deal with the consequences that come with it.
I understand why AJ did it, but that doesn’t mean people can’t criticise his actions. As I said he has to own what he did and he has for the most part.
What exactly does AJ have going on that justifies his actions?

I would strongly dispute that actually, especially given you brought "comparative logic" into the equation. The only way they could be in the "exact same position" is if you reduce their comparative positions to the outcome of the fight only.
In any case, this is all academic. I've said many times what Joshua did was embarrassing (I actually cut the sound I found it so cringeworthy) but on a human level I get it. He's not doubled down, he obviously regrets it and he goes again. Meanwhile, most boxing fans will be staring passively at screens whilst he does it.
Both lost a rematch, in the same division, in the same place, for the same titles. Yeah nothing comparative about that at all… :lol1:
As I said, we can understand it but we can’t just excuse it, people have every right to criticise AJ for what he did. When you do what he did in the public eye it comes with the territory.
Such a basic way of thinking
'My brother also has cancer but he can walk, why can't you?'
What exactly does AJ have going on that justifies his actions?
AJ showed shame... Shame is what gives a person validity in so far as apologizing... that is an ancient recipe! AJ was wrong, and BTW many fighters in similar heat, etc did not lose it ahem... But he is not mentally unstable. Usyk understood. usyk gave Joshua that space to accept the situation and AJ has.
A part of me feels for AJ, he was always set up for failure. He was never the guy they told us he was and he probably got caught in the hype himself. AJ is actually a massive overachiever IMO, certainly based on his talent level. Unfortunately, Sky, Matchroom etc built him up to be something he never could be.
A justification and an explanation are not the same thing. Usyk didn't lose so you can't claim to know how he would have reacted.
Yeah but the tone of your posts is such that you are excusing AJ in the minds of many, myself included. You are even snarky about this thread, which was supposed to be a way for people to accept that AJ was wrong, but not a horrid sort for being so...
Usyk has far more going on than AJ ever will have and he dealt with the pressure. It’s like when people make excuses for Mike against Douglas despite Douglas having a far more tumultuous preparation than Mike had.
At the end of the day, AJ got his ass beat then hijacked Usyk’s moment, went on some bizarre rant and acted like a clown.
We can understand why he did it, with all the pressure and the weight of expectation but we can’t just excuse it. Mr “stay humble” acted like self-important d***head when he had no right to, so he has to man up and deal with the consequences.

None of what you wrote has any relevance to what I just wrote. Are you capable of introspection? Just remember, whatever Joshua did or didn't do, you were just staring passively at a screen again.
Ruiz was in the exact same position AJ was. He acted with class and dignity, AJ didn’t. Are you incapable of using comparative logic?
The moment should have been about Usyk dedicating his victory to his country, a country under siege, fighting a senseless war they had no choice in. Instead it was about some cardboard gangster ranting about “busting cases” and “shouting out Bengo and G14”.
Whichever way you wanna spin it AJ acted like a classless fool and he has to stand on that.

Ruiz didn’t act like a classless fool either when he lost in Saudi.
When you get your ass beat, you take a step back and let the man who’s earned it have his moment.

Agreed
We've all had moments 'where we've lost the plot' unfortunately for AJ it was in front of the world
He has since apologised 'the fight and my emotions both got the better of me'
Many people simply cannot admit when they've done wrong
