(342) The Hitman - Thomas Hearns (Most Insane KOs Ever) - YouTube
I was at Hearns' title fight against Andries at Cobo Arena. I actually got to throw fists with Andries up at Galaxy.............Rockin':boxing:
I was too fast for him. At some point I ended up on the ropes. He came in hard with a right hand, which I got under, and his momentum forced me through the ropes and out of the ring.
That was it for the sparring.
Johnny says afterward, "why you gotta show yo ass with him".
I didn't know what he meant, still don't. I reply, "Just doing as I do"............Rockin':boxing:
Zarukos dog?
hearns and almost all the other guys in most divisions then fought everybody and fought the best fighters instead of the sickening cherry picking and cowardice seen today

I boxed him. With me being so much smaller it would be crazy to go right at him. He couldn't handle my speed, I was touching him. We had an exchange and I ended up on the ropes. he came in hard with a right hand and his momentum forced me out of the ring, through the ropes. It ended there.
After, Johnny says to me "you an asshole, why you gotta show yo ass with him"?
That was the extent of the sparring..................Rockin':boxing:
ATG fighter. Had the pleasure of meeting him in Vegas a few years ago. The Duran KO is what I first think of with Hearns. Leonard-Hearns is in my top 2 favourite fights ever too. I’m sure Hagler-Hearns would definitely be top 10 as well if I made an actual list.
Dude don't be making posts that say Long Live X. I thought Hearns died, Jesus Christ man!
It is not a thread about him being alive, it is a thread about preserving the memory of his greatness in the ring. Always!
Long Live Detroit Boxing and Thomas Hearns.
Might as well throw in Emmanual Steward.
All legends who should always be remembered in the sport. .................Rockin':boxing:
