I would still give Bivol the edge. Hes faster, slicker, more technical and defensively sound enough to negate a lot of what the aging Beterbiev could throw at him. Joe Smith is pretty much just a basic tough guy brawler in comparison which plays right into Beterbievs wheelhouse.

I guess we have to see this fight. It is the fight to make. And it should be next.

As much as I like Bivol...Beterviev is just a bridge too far. And don't even bring up Canelo's name because he's hiding under the bed right now. I also like Benavidez...but he can't do it either. The fact is, NOBODY can, and I don't know what's left for Beterbiev...Zurdo Ramirez? I don't think Zurdo lasts either...Beterbiev has too much of an all around package. I don't know why it took him so long to final get his due, really. He's a likeable and humble guy, and I'm happy for him. Cancel all the fights. Artur beats them all. Retire already. Bivol is not some American bum like Smith, he's an elite world class boxer, it's a good fight I could see either guy winning, Bivol has a big age advantage which could become a factor late in the fight. Bertebiev is great but he's nearly 40 and sometime soon he wil start to LOOK nearly 40 He turned just turned 37 in January and is in excellent shape. Remember Bernard Hopkins at 37? Beterbiev is a very young 37 and walks around at 200lbs...he's much bigger and way stronger than Bivol. I'd be surprised if Bivol actually still wants the fight right now, regardless of what he said up til now.

It's simple but ultra refined and it was enough to bamboozle Canelo. Now, Beterbiev is 295-5 as an amateur and fought 90% opponents with the same style as Bivol - though they may not have been as perfect as Bivol. Beterbiev has seen it all before. Bivol also is too small. Joe Smith dwarfed Bivol size wise in that ring whereas Beterbiev looked bigger than Smith.
