Floyd put on a boxing clinic with a performance similar to that of the annihilation of Arturo Gatti.
After that performance, I think we can all agree Floyd is still P4P the greatest in the sport. I would like to see him come back for Errol Spence and potentially his own Tank. He’d stop them both
Pretty good showing handing undefeated Dangerous Don Moore his first loss
It was an exhibition, there were no judges. It didn't go on neither of their records.
How about this - what fighter at 147 or above, did Floyd face where it was that fighter's best weight? I can't think of any. That sums up my point. Most of those guys were also better at the smaller weights.
You superfans are crazy man. No logic, just 100% defending of your heroes.
What was Floyd's best weight?
All Im giving you is logic and real numbers and you give wishy washy responses claiming logic lol
How about you quote the real numbers of guys in question so we know exactly what the answer is, you are off the mark and the real weights and dimensions will prove it.
Is not being a hater the same as being a super fan, is a superfan somebody that calls a BS as a BS, honestly wtf are you in reference to a superfan, you post more posts on Mayweather than I do, seems like you operate between blurred lines.
Critiquing a fighter when warranted is called being a boxing fan you moron lol.
I've explained my points to you, but I can't understand it for you. I have no interest in having extended convos with superfans on here, you guys are in need of more help than I care to give.

Walking around is not a natural weight, that's the weight your hand is in control of, natural weight is not carrying excess fat and fluid.
Instead of saying bigger smaller which is vague why don't you quote the fight night weights of the guys he fought, and compare those to the fight night weights of the current WWs.
You need to reference the actual numbers and then you will see its not as you think, you're just off the cuff stating size which is as loose as a d-ic-k in a bucket.

I would just encourage you to read all of the posts between myself and that gentleman, if you want to be informed. By walking around weight - I'm referring to the 'natural' weight of the person in question - for example, the weight of the person should they stay in decent shape - not Maidana or Paddy Pimblett shape in between fights.
I mentioned that Floyd didn't fight a lot of large WWs etc as he moved up in weight. And he didn't. He fought guys who were similar enough in stature to him.
It was a smart move, as he wasn't a big WW at all - but most of the guys he fought as he moved up in weight were similar to him - smaller guys who were not naturally much bigger than Floyd was.
Can't explain my point any better than that. Superfans always take issue with any critique of a favored fighter though so I'm not expecting a concession speech from you.

I don't get your size picture from the first post you asked about Floyd vs bigger guys, he has fought so many that outweighed him on fight night by up to 20lbs, you will actually have to dig deep across his entire career to find guys that were lighter than him on fight night.
As for Spence he is 5:9" and fights at WW, when Oscar fought Floyd he was 5'11" and had fought for 5 yrs at 154-160, Floyd gave him 23lbs that night, I don't understand your point as weight is weight and height is a height, the only time it matters is on fight night, what they walk around at has no bearing on their best fighting weight, some let the weight go on in between fights others don't, it's irrelevant to fighting weight and fighting size.
Boxing size is entirely about fighting weight, dimension at the weight can be or not be an advantage depending on a guy's ability to use his physical assets, reach is useless if a fighter doesnt have the speed to use it, power can be equalized through the other guys footwork so every advantage at a set weight can be countered through another asset, so we can go on down the line of attributes and still end up at just weight as the only element that can be measured to equal.

Fair enough - I agree that today's current guys weight-bully as much as anyone. Floyd's reach, and ability to use it, were great assets for him.
I was just trying to say that I consider guys like Spence, even Bud, to be naturally quite a bit bigger than Floyd. I don't think Floyd fought a ton of guys like that at WW and above, but at the same time, a lot of guys who fight at WW and 154 today walk around close to 180+ pounds I bet.

Hmm...idk I feel like today's fighters are big..even the 135 lbers. Teo supposedly rehydrates up to 156 and Haney supposedly puts on 23 lbs after the weigh in...that's 158..Guys like Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez are even bigger. I think Floyd was at his best at 140, but even dudes like Gatti would signficantly outweigh him, let alone these other cats that are even bigger than Gatti.
I will say that Floyd's advantages are his height, and long limbs.

His strengths where, his ability to stay in and around fight weight.
I honestly think this was one of his most important strengths. And it is overlooked.
Staying very close to fight weight all year round. This made training more efficient, and from camp to camp he was always building. This is why he was always very strong physically.
Where as his competitors, may have from camp to camp. They were getting out of condition, then back into condition, then back out of condition.
None of this is optimal.
If you look through all the lower weight divisions now, nobody is really following the philosophies of Floyd Mayweather Junior, Bernard Hopkins or Carl Froch. These where fighters who always stayed in and around fight weight etc.
He should come back and take Josh Taylor titles at 140
140 pounds is too low.
Here you go.
Eimantas Stanionis, Mayweather could fight this guy for the WBA regular Welter Weight title.
No idea who he is, but I will try and find some of his fights.
My point is/was that while Floyd fought well as he went up in weight, he never really fought a significantly bigger fighter than him. Floyd was a natural 140ish pound fighter in today's era. He didn't fight any/many guys that walked around north of 160 while he walked around about 150.
Canelo obviously did/does walk around north of 160, but that's where that weight draining issue comes in. Not to mention that he caught him early in his career. Oscar was a WW though he was probably a good 10 pounds naturally bigger than Floyd too imo.

So Mayweather even while training probably at 40%, weighed in at 150 pounds. 150 pounds. Proves that all those years fighting at 147 pounds, he was always near enough facing bigger fighters.
The reason why I have highlighted this, is because people of late? Have been making a big deal of Alvarez facing Bivol, who probably was not even that much heavier than Alvarez.
There is also a possibility that Alvarez was bigger than Bivol come fight night etc.
Note: So even after years of retirement, Mayweather is still able to pretty much make super welterweight. If there where some lower class world champions about, I honestly think Mayweather could beat them.
He should come back and take Josh Taylor titles at 140
In case anyone was wondering who “undefeated” Moore is, Bwahahaha!
